I recently stopped IV rocephin after 6 months in order to address the possibility of babesia.
Since about the second day on artemesia (it's been a week), I could pretty much sleep all day if I didn't have other demands on my time.
Overall, I'm feeling better, and more optimistic than I have been in quite a while. Could this be my body going into healing mode, or does artemesia just make you very sleepy??
I'm wondering as I'm about to double the dose. And I think I'll be switching to mepron soon.

I would say it means the artemisinin is working. You are most likely herxing. Babesia causes really bad fatigue, hence the sleeping. Take this as good news!

I was extremely tired on artemesinin, and had a dreadful headache. I stayed on it while on mepron. I was exhausted through the first 5 months of my babs tx, and my legs hurt. I believe it was some sort of herx, because artemesinin no longer has that effect on me since I've completed babs tx.
But art, and then art/mepron/zith worked well for me (7 month course of tx) and I've had no babs relapses since finishing babs treatment in November '04. I took 600 mg Allergy Research artemesinin in 2 divided doses, with breaks every week to counter the resistance-to-absorbtion problem.
