Heather, Hope things are ok..The ER is horrible..Our daughter used to go every couple of months..Unfortunately, it was most always due to attempts to end this hell of the diseases..
Only once in all of the trips did we find support and belief in the lyme diagnosis..
The last time the ER duck took me outside the room and basically cross examined me over it..Said it can't be lyme if the test was not positive..Even equivocal doesn't mean lyme..And the urine tests are not valid..
Further that no one can have all of those tick borne diseases and Babesosis isn't in our area..
I was livid..Then he sent in the senior Duck to talk to my daughter and asked her what were her future goals..After saying she had always wanted to be a vet, he said well you better stop taking all of this medicine or you won't have enough memory to even attempt to go to college..ANd that the hospital test says no L.D.
I HATE DUCKS!!! Now she is convinced she has no tick borne diseases and will not take meds..Or supplements..I just pray nightly that our wonderful llmd will hang in there and not jump ship until we can again find the reasoning to continue..
I hope your visit was not too horrible and that things are now ok..lymemomtooo

HEATHER----I was just thinking about you! I hope everything is okay now.
I dont get to see what you are up to as much coz we are on different treatments, and I cant keep up with everyone, but I still think about my mepron buddies!

It is so sick that we have to do this. What is wrong with the all the doctors? Do they have a brain?

hi LymeED That's a good idea so I went to print out the article on the cycts and it was 26 pages long.
I pushed stop on page three because I never met a duck that had an attention spane of more than a minte.
And everytime I would flip them something...that really seems to tic off their delicate ego's and I usually get shown to the door.
How do you get them to read such a long article?Or do they just read the first few pages?

Here is the story.
My wonderful husband has been a champ. Working every chance he has....... bring home the bacon. Even though he's sick with Lyme and Babs just like me.
Yesterday he left for work at 5:30am like normal. I on the other hand didn't leave to go to work until 9:30am. Thankfully my boss takes me when he can.
any way....... Bill called me at 2pm and said he left work and was going to a urologist becuase he hadn't peed all day.
What? Hadn't peed all day?? How uncomforable is that?
He said he had to go and nothing was coming out.
He later called and said he was going to the er becuase the urologist couldn't get rid of the blockage with a cathitor. Men, does this sound like fun to you?
Anyway it took 2 inturns ducks and one er LLMD (absolutely a miracle). The head er doctor had Lyme and other tick borne coinfections himself. I've got to get his name. If we ever have to go to the er...........
So I didn't watch the flippin procedure becuase I was too wigged out but I was nearby listening.
New Hyde Park, Long Island Jewish Medical Center was jam packed with every stinky sick person you could never ever want to be near.
You know that uncomforatable feeling you get when you need to lay down or you will be sick for the next week........ I had it immediately when I walked into that place.
Back to the story. So I could hear the Doctors doing the procude talking to my husband the pain in his voice and don't you know I started to have a seizure.
There was no place to sit. I wasn't going to lay on the floor..... I found a weird optomitrist section and sat on that chair and passed out.
Oh God please don't let me puke or pee my pants. I don't know how long I was OUT but at least I didn't pee or puke. And guess what???? In that busy er no one saw me!!!!!!! Thank God!
When I woke up I was completely drenched with sweat. Poor Bill was still having the procuder done. It took longer than 1 1/2 hours for them to clear his blockage.
My poor sweat man. They told him he was about the toughest guy they have ever seen. He doesn't derserve this crap. Cripes!
So he had to cancel on a bunch of jobs and has to stay home with a cathiter for 5 days. I told him at least he doesn't have a **** bag.
I know, I know..... real nice.... but it was a good laugh.
This is going to push us back financially. Hope this story makes sence.
He's ok. Very uncomfortable. I'm waiting on him hand and foot.

Wow! Poor Bill! I am glad he was able to get to an ER with some good docs to help him.
What do they think caused the blockage?
Take care......and get some rest! You deserve it. Sure hope your hubby continues to feel better.

Scar tissue. So now he needs to go to the urologist every 6 months to make sure it's not growing back.
and this tuesday to take out the catheter.
Doesn't that sound like fun?

Heather, my goodness, what a harrowing experience for hubby, and for you too.
What a miracle to find a lyme knowledgeable doc in an ER!
Especially amazing to have a seizure right in the ER as they go about their business, unaware!
Glad everyone's home in one piece, more or less..!

Yea I've got to get this er LLMDs name. This hospital is over an hour away from our house but it's now our agreed upon er.

wow!!!! I can only imagine your husbands pain. Urethra pain is the worst friggin thing i have ever been thru....i can only imagine how it is for a guy.
You had luck on your side with the LLMD at the ER....

Hope you can get some rest for yourself-what an ordeal.
We took my son to Long Island Jewish when he was 3 to see GI dr to check if he was lactose-intolerant.
They gave him cup of liquid to drink. Not child-friendly at all. Clear liquid in plain cup. He wouldn't drink it for nurse, so she left me sitting on the floor in an office where a secretary was working.
When it was time to check, nurse said results may not be valid as he didn't drink the stuff all at one time.
Test was blowing a balloon up. He was too young to blow up the balloon. GI dr said, "Well, you could take him home and give him a cup of milk and see what happens."
I can't believe that they couldn't find you a decent chair or bed nearby.
My teen daughter talks about starting a charity to get couches and beds into drs office and ER!
You think they could AFFORD it!
I hope hubby does well and can get rid of cathether quickly. ouch!

Heather, sorry to read about your husband's painful procedure and your seizure the ER staff did NOT recognize. So glad you were surprised to find a LLMD there who helped you both so much.
I'm glad your husband had good Docs in the ER and you around, I do hope Mr. Johnson heals up nicely and they are just as good about the catheter removal and all.
I'm more worried about why you are having seizures.. I can't walk by that one even if you didn't pee or puke
I don't know if you have detailed this somewhere else, but is that a regular occurance?

Your reaction kinda sounds like sympathy pains to me.
Best wishes to you both. Yes, that is what we need, more docs with chronic TBDs.
Here is the good news, your doc understands the disease because he has it too.
Here is the bad news, your doc is sick.
Just kidding around a little. Got to find something to joke about. But the ER guy apparently has it under control or he wouldn't be at work.

Yes the seizure was definately triggered by my worring about Bill.
I have a Nuero LLMD. Haven't found anything with the tests.
