Any opinions greatly appreciated!

Hiya Boomerang.
Ya mean Diamox.
Most of us can't remember the REAL name!!!
I have tried it a coupla times.
Didn't do a thing for me.
My LLMD said: "It helps about 50% of my patients," so I gave it a try for severe headache pain.
Now, I'm not one a those who is helped by nothing.
For fatigue, my LLMD said, "So far, hardly ANY of my patients have been helped by Provigil, but try it out." Turns out it saved my butt and might be what's keeping me working.
Definitely give it a try -- some people on here have been helped a lot by it.

Thanks Michelle........the prescription says Acetazolamide.....sorry didn't know about the other name.
Don't now whether we will try it or not. I'm seeing a lot of info about not taking it if you are allergic to sulfa.... So, that wouldn't be an option.

Diamox saved my eyesight. My brain was swelling so much it was pressing and damaging my optic nerves. I still have permanent right eye optic nerve damage, but I can see.
It does seem to help a bit with the wonderful Lyme headaches, but I still get quite a few of them.
I've been on this drug for many years now and wouldn't even think of giving it up ... neither would my doctor.
I didn't know there was any connection to being allergic to Sulfa. I was put on Diamox when we thought I had an allergy to Sulfa, but after being tested for many different drugs, they found I am not allergic to Sulfa.
Good luck, Deb

It worked great for me. I had horrible headaches and pressure. Did get a "buzzing feeling" in my back though (but it wasn't particularly unpleasant...kind of like a vibration pad).
