Ran out of Biaxin but have about 50 flagyl 250 mg tablets left.
Can't afford anymore Biaxin or other abx until July.
Can I just take the flagyl by itself and will it do any good. Currently taking 1000 mg of flagyl a day.

I took flagyl by itself for a couple of months and it improved my brain fog tremendously. I requested another antibiotic and my LLMD was ok with that, but when I tried to add it to the flagyl the herx was too severe. My LLMD said it was fine to just do the flagyl but that was my situation.

I did just flagyl by itself at the end of my treatment for a couple of months. It is a good cyst buster.

Some believe flagyl merely opens the cyst but doesn't kill the spirochete. Others say it does kill the spirochete.
If it were me I would want some pretty convincng evidence that the spirochete was being killed after the cyst opened.
I would check further with your doc before doing this.
Perhaps you can get samples from your doc or meds from a free med program.

quote:In Trichomonas, tinidazole's nitro group is reduced, and the free nitro radical generated appears to be responsible for antiprotozoal activity, including interaction with and damage to protozoal DNA.
Probably, Flagyl would act on Babs according to the quote above.
