Hi
We are working with a pediatrician to diagnose our 2.5 yr old son. We are searching fairly blindly at the moment. Majoring symptoms are sleep latency, difficult to keep asleep, reduced hours of sleep, he is awake 2-4 hours of the night. He complaans of "sore head" (only at night), always points to top back of head. Some night he shows no signs of complaints but says it, versus the whole spectrum as far as he screama and canhardly manage to get the words out while he physically tries to escape the pain. HE hold his arms out and moves his hands when he settles for bed, whith some side to side movement of eyes. HE seems mesmerised. Often he talks saying names of machines (which is what he loves). E.G. last night pointing in mid air, non-responsive "look grader". He has had one full body jerking seizure after an extremely lethargic day. He was a dead weight after the seizure. Came right within half hour afterwards. HAd an episode about 8 seconds long of rapid linking and non responsiveness about two weeks ago. The last few weeks have seen a decline in his daytime energy. A once very active outside sandpit playing two year old is now an indoors huggy boy who can barely be coaxed to be active for short periods. We have been researching and someone suggested checking for Lyme. Another person in a Lyme forum suggestting searching the hand movements. I found information on a condition called Opsoclonous Myoclonus or Infantil Polyclonous. I ran into an article that discussed this with regards to Lyme. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this syndrome? Especially interested in any information regarding young children.
