I'm planning on doing the co-infection panel with iGenex. Any reason not to? Are there better labs for this? How reliable are these tests? Does doxy treat bartonella?
Been on 400mg doxy for about 10 weeks now. How long does it take to get some significant improvement? Lyme positive/igenex. Bit by tick about thirteen months before treatment started.
Also, how many days for you between the monthly BB reproductive cycle? I seem to be getting spikes every 3-4 weeks.

Dear Thomas,
Testing for co-infections is not that accurate.
There are many more strains than even Igenex can identify.
My LLMD clinically diagnosed me with babesia and bartonella based on symptoms.
Yes on the bb cycle. I think it is anywhere from 25-35 days.
Mine is like clock work every 30 days.
I don't know when I was infected. Never saw the tick or had a rash.
However, 10 weeks into antibiotics isn't enough to get rid of bb.
I am on Month 16 of treatment. I do believe I've had this infection for 5+ years though.
Hang in there.
Treat until symptoms are gone for at least 2 months.
Then my LLMD does a "remission challenge".
Hugs,
Geneal

Thanks Geneal. You monthly BB cycle, is it showing a dramatically decreasing level of symptoms or is it just slow going? What is a remission challenge?
