Hey Everyone,

I'm sure that this has been posted before, but when I did a search for it I came up with every topic where someone put in the word Diet or Lyme. As you can imagine, I couldn't sift through it all to find what I am looking for.

So I'm at 17 months of treatment and still feeling pretty rotten. I have not been doing well on my low carbs no sugar diet. So I think it's time to move down that path.

Is there a topic on this site where someone spells out the foods that are OK and the foods that are NOT?? I'm not certain on what is considered as NEVER, SOMETIMES OK, and GOOD.

Thanks.

Not sure if there is an actual LYME diet. There are diets that are helpful with lyme, like a low yeast diet, low inflammation diet, etc.

I was told to try the low inflammation diet or the blood type diet. I've been trying to eat low yeast as well as closely as I can to my blood type diet.

Visual,

You should find an integrative doctor trained in nutrition to determine the best diet for you. Here is a good website for finding a physician who went back to school for additional training.

www.acam.org (ACAM = American College for Advanced Medicine)

When you are sick, you develop food sensitivities that can actually cause some of your symptoms. Not necessarily gastric symptoms. For me, if I eat foods I am sensitive to my joints swell and hurt. You usually develop sensitivity to the foods you eat most often.

This is due to leaky gut. Read my recent thread about Altered Immunity and Leaky Gut. It explains the role of food in our sickness very well.

Hope this helps.
