He's avoiding Vitamin D, because he saw the reverse ratio. The high Vitamin D is probably an indication of abnormal immune function as a result of the infection.
Long story short, the Vitamin D should stablize and reverse or at least balance as you improve, assuming the theory is correct.

the 250mg 1x daily is 250mg of flagyl once a day. this seems lower than what other people take, so i was curious what anyone thought.

do you mean the chlamydia pneumoniae? that is
the only possible coinfection that i think i may
have, but i'm not really sure. my doctor says it
means that i could have a chronic cpn infection,
but many doctors would say that i don't. so..i
dont really know? i do know that my mother (who
passed away from MS) had high titers of CPN, and
at least one of my sister's do as well. all 3 of
my sisters have at least lyme, we are pretty
sure.
i'm happy w/the low dose of flagyl, b/c of the
lack of side effects i've had from it. just hope
it's enough in combo w/the others.

I like it too, looks powerful, now I self treat so, if I was you, and I am not you of course, I would get off cell wall inhibiting abx (pennys and ceftins) and go on minocin and rulide, or zith if I was fearful of rulide, which I am not. or ANY of the abvanced marcolides. AND a tetra (minocin or doxy)...why? Because they both leave the cell wall intact, basially thought to keep the kets from hiding. They dont fear tetras or marcolides is the believe here. But they do kill them.

The most common coinfections are babesia and bartonella. The testing for those often results in a false NEGATIVE.
You need a dr who understands that and will at least give you a trial run of those meds to see how you respond.
If you're not getting better, there's usually a good reason why. Often it is because of an untreated coinfection.

It's great that you are on a proper combination of antibiotics. Good job! Now...see how you feel, your doses are low. The combination is good, but the doses are low. Biaxin can be 1,500-2,000 mg/day and Amoxicillin 3-6 grams /day and up from there, Flagyl 1,500-2,000 mg/day...plaquenil leave as is. You may need to raise your doses over time.

i did test negative for all other coinfections, and ok w/that since i really dont have the symptoms for them.
my doctor specializes in treating lyme and says from his experience this low dose flagyl has been very effective:)
