Hi,

We are thinking my son has lyme for many reasons (we see Dr. J in a month) and blinking more often than normal is just one of the odd things he does, particularly when he's trying to watch TV.

Have any of you noticed this in either adults or children with lyme?

Thanks,

tickbattler

YES! It was one of my daughters first symptoms. She still does it and it was one of my later symptoms. We describe it as if it feels like our eyes our "gelled" over.

We blink and kinda "roll" our eyes under the lids and squint to try and "clear" them. They feel weird!

I agree it could be a symptom of Lyme, but I would also research the possibility of electrosensitivity, too. I have both.

You can ask on the eSens forum:

My son said that I do this.

I think b/c the Lyme has hurt my eyes.

Hi tickbattler! I have had this symptom - uncontrollable blinking with eyes rolled upwards.

My husband drove me to my regular doctor because I was so miserable - it was a sudden onset symptom.

With my LLMD's advice, I was put on phenobarbital for a few days. Now it only happens once in a blue moon.

Both my LLMD and regular doctor says it's because I have partial complex seizures.

Don't know if it's the same thing as what your 4-year-old does.

Take care! - Julie Lymelady
