Just to be on the safe side, I've decided I want to test a couple rooms in my home for mold.
I know there are kits you can by at e.g. Home Depot, and then you send away for results
Any recommendations for which brand of home mold test kit I should get?
Thanks

Lark, We went to Home Depot and there was only one choice. I would think other places may have more available. There are probably some sites on the internet or maybe check out the neurotoxin.com site and they might have info.
I can smell mold and mildew in some rooms in homes or buildings when I first go inside. So we pretty much knew we had a problem when our daughter tested positive to a mold test and I had been thinking I had smelled a unusual odor.
We tested her bedroom, which has no water or leaks, along with the entry way and the bathroom. Her bedroom was the hottest. She had ripped wallpaper off and there was a 100 year old duct system in the wall that had been sealed years before. She was getting a constant wind of air from the basement. It had gone thru many leaks in it's history and we never really used it. We were sick.
The bathroom, which had a tiny leak, ended up also being horrible. We gutted it to the outside walls and had found all varieties of mold.
I think everyone that is having trouble improving needs to do this. You may, like us, have a situation that you never even knew existed.
I think the tests are not too expensive but you pay a bit more to send them for results.
Now everytime she starts to backtrack, I go to the bathroom and look for any evidence of mold on the shower or curtain, etc and treat it.
Good luck. lmt

Thanks - if we do have a problem it's hidden, but I should have prob tested a couple years ago, just to make sure, since I know I'm mold sensitive.
I am going to test our bedroom, 1 bathroom, and the basement just to be sure
Glad you found the source of the mold prob in your home Lymemom

Yeah I;ve used those tests twice. Its called ProLbas and it is good if you just want to see what type of mold you have in your home. I found 4 different types of Mold in my home!!!! I dont know if its making my problems worse because i am not having any breathing problems but do sometimes have allergies. At this point it would be best for me to just get out but go where
Does anyone know if mold can cause ABX treatment to be less effective?
