Azure, I REALLY understand the "dumbing down" thingy. It is, by far, my most difficult symptom to deal with. Feels like my IQ has dropped 50 points.
Word finding is major and is impossible to explain to people. I constantly, get stuck in the middle of a sentence, lose train of thought, etc.
It does seem to be worse when fatigue is at its highest, but I don't think fatigue is the cause.
Don't know the culprit either but am being treated for lyme and babesia.
Wish I had better answers for you.

I suspect mine was erlichia. 5 weeks of doxy cleared my brainfog right up. It was the first abx I took. I still have a touch of brainfog but it is minimal compared to what it was.
