Ok, a question for all you medical experts out there...

I have a sibling that has been tracking a blood protein (Bence jones) for the last year, and its been slowly rising. That protein is usually associated with a type of blood cancer (marrow, plasma, cell, etc.)

Is there any correlation that anyone here knows of between lyme disease and the bence jones protein? Or multiple sclerosis?

Besides cancer, is there any other illness that could make that protein rise?

He doesnt exhibit any of the classic symptoms for that type of cancer (eye problems, swollen lymph nodes, back pain, bones breaking, joint pains, etc.) But Id like to understand that disease better, and pray that maybe its something else. I also have concerns about whether or not it could be genetic.

Any info would be greatly appreciated...
