Recently I have been seeking to overcome yeast infection in my mouth and intestines. Am taking high dose quality probiotics and am noticing some improvement.
However, have also been taking Saccharomyces boulardii to further protect the intestines. But I am just learning via the internet that one should not take this supplement if they have a yeast infection.
Is Saccharomyces boulardii okay if one has a yeast infection? What organisms does this protect against? Can someone knowledgeable about Saccharomyces boulardii inform what it protects against and when to take it.
I just wanted to protect my intestines. I now have a yeast protocol (Cleaning mouth, etc), just needed more information on this supplement that many have stated is important.
Thanks for your help

It helps prevent C. Diff. It's a different yeast than Candida, but I don't know anything about taking it with a yeast infection.

It's a probiotic that is antibiotic specific meaning you should take it when you are on ABX. It
is very strong and can survive the ABX better and should be used along with other probiotic strains.
You don't need it for a yeast infection but it won't harm you if you take it. But, you should be on a good probiotic with a variety of strains for the yeast infection.

One capsule is 5 billion CFU Saccharomyces boulardii . Is one a day sufficient or is it better to take more?
Already taking 50 billion CFU of probiotic. Just ordered Theralac since many have recommended it. After these GI issues, just want to make sure intestines are taken care of each day.

It won't make a candida infection worse, though it is a different type of yeast, protective against c. difficil.
However because it is a yeast, the stuff you use to kill candida -- anti-yeast drugs like nystatin, diflucan, garlic supplements, etc -- will also kill the Saccharomyces boulardii.
