Randi,

Rectal prolapse can feel like hemmorroids, but can actually be a symptom of worms especially with the itcheys you are having.

I would be very surprised if they pick them up on a colonoscopy.

Preparation H has Thymol in the ointment which is antiparasitic.

Maybe that will give you some relief, but certainly not the whole answer.

I know I keep mentioning the parasite/worm thing to you because of all of your G. I. symptoms. Have you tried any antiparasitics? Did you ever take the Humaworm?

i'm afraid of irritating that colon.

Here is something I learned yesterday when reading about Pycnogenol:

Yes, I had the surgery last March. It was the real thing not the band thing. I too, was bleeding something terrible. They were too bad for the easier version. I just put it off way too long.

It was a rough recovery but after 2 weeks I was doing pretty good. To be honest, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting though. Don't put it off if you need it. I wish I hadn't.

You can get suppositories that do help if they aren't too bad.

Several years ago I had hemorrhoids and the doctor removed it (not rubber bands) in his office. Was in and out within an hour. Pretty simple procedure for me. Gave me an Rx for Lortab and that took care of the pain.

He shoots up the anus with some kind of numbing agent (similar to getting novacane shots at the dentist's office) and cuts the hemorrhoid off. I did fine for several years then had to go back and do it again.

Haven't had any problems with it since.

Last year I was to the point that I was ready to make appt for laser surgery. No way was I going to do the hemorroid surgery.

My hemorroids have eased up alot, so it's now on the back burner. I used essential oils and hot baths to calm. OTC & rx just didn't help me.

Mine were from terrible constipation period I was going through. Exercising class in heated pool at Y has seemed to help bowels.

Google Neo Healar...that stuff really helps the pain and swelling. Are you sure its hemmorhoids and not a fissure? The banding is awful, the laser is superior. Good luck!

Use Calmol suppositories in the meantime...if it is a fissure this will help it heal.
