Has anyone else taken NT factor? What's your opinion on this product?

I just wanted to share that I took NT Factor back in the fall, and felt it greatly helped my energy level. I stopped for a month or two. After having more fatigue, I recently started taking it again. I have once again been feeling much better, and believe it does help my fatigue.

Now, I order it at iherb.com since its relatively inexpensive there.

Here is an article that I found on Dr S's website:

NT Factor - The key to energy production in the body involves the little "powerhouse" part of every cell called the mitochondria. When the mitochondria perform optimally, energy production is good. When they perform poorly, energy production is bad. I believe the combination of poor diet (especially poor quality fats, sugar, and excess free radicals) and chronic infection with resulting inflammation leads to poor mitochondrial function. When one adds heavy metal and pesticide exposure over the years, damage to mitochondrial membranes is inevitable. The result of mitochondrial dysfunction is low energy production resulting in chronic fatigue.

NT Factor works by repair of mitochondrial membranes, resulting in improvement of mitochondrial function. It does this by replacing or exchanging damaged lipid membrane components with healthy lipid membrane components. Repairing this damage involves the use of "phosphoglycolipids" (fat molecules containing one or more phosphate groups) provided through this specially-formulated nutritional supplement. Not only are phosphoglycolipids critical for proper cell membrane structure, they also play an essential role in protecting against free-radical damage, helping to ensure that the mitochondria stay healthy.

NT Factor is a stabilized preparation of these vital substances. Supplementing with phosphoglycolipids not only halts cell membrane damage, it can even reverse existing damage. Interestingly, organ meats and egg yolks are among the best food sources of phosphoglycolipids. The problem is that unless you consume large portions of these foods at every meal, you are unlikely to receive all of the phosphoglycolipids your cells and mitochondria require for optimal health and energy.

According to the manufacturer of NT Factor, Nutritional Therapeutics, Inc., benefits include better metabolism and utilization of nutrients, improved hormone and glucose management, and the body's improved ability to produce antioxidants such as glutathione and super oxide dismutase (SOD). The results are improved mitochondrial function, improved membrane fluidity and potential, restoration of lost metabolism and nutrient absorption, and reduced free radical activity. All of this translates into a remarkable improvement in energy for about 40% of people using NT Factor over a 6-12 week period of time. In my experience, most people feel better even in the first week or two.

Thank you for this thread. My doctor just recommended it, and I have never been on it before.

Would love to hear other testimonials.

MorningSong-- Which brand did your dr recommends? I read on Dr B's list that he recommends the Researched Nutritionals brand. I'm not sure how expensive it is there, as I could not order it.

I bought mine at Iherb for $30.

Out of all the supplements I take, this is the one that I can really tell a difference in the way I feel. I don't know if the other ones are doing anything but I keep taking them.

I think I paid $50. It is expensive.

txgirl~

My doctor recommended the Researched Nutritionals brand, and gave me their phone # to call. Just saw her, so haven't placed a call yet. But now will order ASAP.

Thank you everyone for the testimonials. It is encouraging since I have been feeling very weak.
