What is your current treatment? I was on quinine and clindamycin. I started to lose my hearing in my left ear so I was taken off. I felt like I was going to die on the treatment. It was terrible.

My son is on Mefloquine (Larium ) 1 250mg once a week.

Azithromycin 1 250mg once a day for 7 days then off for 7 days.

Also artemisinin 1 100 mg a day - added 2 X a day as tolerated working up to 2 100 mg 2 X a day.

All these were added one thing at a time as tolerated.

Spread out over a few weeks.

He has seen a significant decrease in symtoms, almost nonexistent at this point, mainly the "air hunger".

All of these have been tolerated by him very well.
