I'm looking for some free (or worst case really cheap, but safe) places to stay, when I go to see my dr. I haven't decided who the best dr is for me to see yet though. Please see my signature.
Does anyone know of any places, in general or specifically, where I could stay for free or really cheap, so I can see a dr?
The only place I can think of, right now, is the Ronald McDonald House, but I'm not sure what their requirements are. Does anyone know?
Any helpful information, websites, leads, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Jennie

- * Go to the website for Ronald McDonald Guest Houses.
After reading more about them, you can call the one near where you plan to go and they can tell you more about qualifications - or direct you to other options.
* Contact the local lyme support groups in that area.
* Also churches or synagogues, or temples (depending upon your faith but also of congregations that have outreach programs across faiths).
Some convents, monasteries or retreat houses have sliding-fee scale rates. You need not usually be of a particular faith, just respectful of that of the hosts.
There may be some volunteers in their communities who offer a guest room for medical travelers.
* Are there any hostels around there?
* University housing - some colleges have guest housing set aside or open up dorm rooms during vacations. -

- If you forego maid service during your stay, some hotels/motels sometimes also reduce the rate. -
