New LLMD (www.lymemd.blogspot.com) found that I have babesia and ehrlichia through LabCorp tests. I am getting sicker by the day and really scared now.
I will be starting babesia treatment first. Tomorrow, I will start Mepron, Biaxin, and plaquenil.
Thanks, Jen

What about the erlichia? I took doxy right along with those other three meds.
Good luck, I hope this does the trick for you.

It seems A LOT of people test positive for Babesia WA-1 at LabCorp. I wish I knew what this means.

Would you mind posting what type of test was run? My son's test is as follows: WA1 IGG AB, IFA. The result was 1:4096. The 2nd test was 1:256. Both of these tests are through Quest.
He has been on Lariam, Plaquenil, Biaxin and Omnicef. I believe this protocol is what decreased the titer and is killing off the Babesia.
The CDC ran a test and it came back negative. Not sure how it is possible for Quest to find it twice but the CDC can't find it at all.
I do hope you begin to feel better and your meds do the trick.

One more thing, at the bottom of my son's test it says, "Test performed at Focus Diagnostics/Cypress, CA". Although the report is from Quest, it looks like they did not do the actual test. Interesting...

Focus Diagnostics is a specialty lab owned by Quest. I'm learning so much during this process. So, you'd think that these tests are accurate and the CDC has missed the boat.

My test is WA1 IgG AB IFA, result 1:2048 by Focus Diagnostics Babesia microti IgM < 1:10 negative Babesia microti igG < 1:10 negative by ViroMed
Hope your son's meds get rid of babs for him.

Interesting. I had a 1:256 titer in mid-2009 for WA-1. It jumped to 1:1,1024 in Nov-09 and to 1:2,048 in May-10. All through LabCorp using Focus Diagnostics (Quest). I think we all need a separate thread just on WA-1, our titer levels and exactly what symptoms we have to see if it's consistent.
Something makes me wonder about how many have a positive WA-1 titer.
Unlike the person who got Plaquenil, Larium, etc., I was given 3 days of Malarone (4 pills) and told I'm cured by an ID doc. Ummmm...my body sure doesn't know it's cured! I feel horrible.
