I'm fighting ALS lyme and read that Ledum is helpful. How much should I take per day?

I've seen some articles in which I thought ledum was presented in a highly over-rated promise. So, keep that all in perspective. I've also been treated by otherwise intelligent NDs who specialized in homeopathics, who did the ledum route - to no avail. I had zero reactions, any of the times I've taken it (about 4 different courses from 3 different NDs over a couple years' time).
But none were at all lyme literate and they each highly overestimated Ledum, IMO. And, still, experiences vary so do explore it as one option.
Ledum is a homeoopathic remedy as opposed to an herb or a nutritional supplement. Homeopathics work differently.
There is no set "recipe" for homeopathics - some guidelines, but each person has a different case. There are many variables that can alter one person's dose / strength / timing from another's.
I'm not sure where you read that about Ledum. If is was written by a professional, you might contact the author if there is no LL homeopathic doctor in your area.
I also would not limit myself to ledum. I had several rounds with it and saw no changes. However, as I said, everyone is different. Ledum is best, however, for immediate use right after the bite.
You should be able to find a LL homeoopathic doctor through some of the links below, most likely a LL ND who is trained in that area. Not all are, though, so be sure to ask first.

Well, in the business of trying pretty much everything, I finished a 14-day course of Cryptolepsis, supported by Red Root tincture, Smilax, and the other adjunct herbs and supplements recommended for Babesia by Buhner and Dr. K.
(I had already done about 25 days of low-dose artemisinin and two short-duration high dose treatments using Dr. K's guideline) I had very few symptoms show up or change during this time, and have only had some sweatting since. My out-of-balance and vertigo sx have now been gone for two months!!
I still have low body temp, but it is higher (now actually reaches 98.3 in the afternoon sometimes) than it was before, and I will probably do another short-term Artemesinin treatment next. I'm looking into PC-Noni for Babesia, as my husband also has Babesia symptoms and can't tolerate Artemesinin or anything that would cause him to herx badly, due to his heavy work schedule.
Since I was going to have a minor surgery and was required to be off ALL herbs and vits for a week beforehand, I decided to try the homeopathic ledum when I was recovered and before going back on any herbs (if they were then needed).
I started with 6X ledum, and had a herx of apathy and fatigue that was horrible and lasted hours. I continued on the 6X ledum for several days while various symptoms appeared and then went away. When that seemed to not be producing any more change, I went on to 30X ledum.
This provoked additional symptoms, which went away over time. I stayed on 30X Ledum for about a week or so. Then, I went on to 200C Ledum, which also provoked symptoms like knee soreness, being "out of it," etc.
When these resolved, and nothing was changing, I went on to 1M Ledum (which is what was recommended by the person who originally got people interested in using Ledum for Lyme).
I had to order it in advance from a homeopathic pharmacy that was recommended to me by a local homeopath, as you can't get this level in health food stores off the shelf.
I have now been on 1M Ledum for about 10 days, and many of my long-term Lyme symptoms seem to have resolved!!
Also during this time, I was using the detox footpads and Red Root one time a day, along with some vitamins (B complex, Vit. E, alpha lipoic acid, Vit, C, etc.), but nothing else.
I still have to take naps and get "brain fog" when I've been very active, but am feeling much, much better!! -----------------------------------

I have had 28 days of antibiotics about 2 years ago and another course of a month of oral antibiotics about 6 months ago.
I recently had minor surgery and was on antibiotics for about 10 days total between IV and oral. It was Keflex, which is not highly regarded in handling Lyme.
I have been doing Buhner's herbs, but had not gotten to a high dose yet.

- You'll need instruction on how to take homeopathics (no mint, no caffeine, no chocolate, no strong flavors - in anything you eat for a while before or afterward). Some say no mint at all, others say for a few hours either direction of taking the dose).
It's best to use a mint free toothpaste such as Auromere or Weleda.
If you don't find a homeopathic doctor, be sure to read several articles by professionals about ledum and also about how to obtain maximum benefit from homeopathics. You may need a prescription from - or to get the stronger doses from a ND, L.Ac. or homeopathic doctor.
CaliforniaLyme who used to post here stated that all Lyme ALS presenting patients should be taking Ledum.

2young2die, Considering that you are battling ALS, it might be wiser NOT to try to mitigate the symptoms of your Herxes because you need those symptoms to guide your therapy so that you don't push it too hard or fast.
If your LLMDs approves, then go for it, but I would encourage you to run EVERYthing by your LLMD first. It's better to play it safe in your special situation. (See my post under your other topic, please, so that you will understand where I'm coming from regarding this precaution. Below is a link to 2young's other topic for the convenience of anyone else who is curious enough to want to see the context of that message in relation to this one.)
