Are you taking saccharomyces boulardii? Florastor is a brand name.

Take a good mixed probiotic and saccharomyces boulardii twice daily.

Some good probiotics to try are VSL#3, Theralac, Natren Healthy Trinity, Jarrow Brand, Healthy Origins, and Renew Life Ultimate flora. You can find these (and other good ones) online and at your local health food store.

I currently take 2 Healthy Origins capsules with lunch then 2 VSL#3 capsules and 2 S.Boulardii capsules before bed.

Remember to take your probiotics 2hrs away from antibiotics and antifungal medications.

Comes in a combo. I am thinking of ordering this. It is very expensive though. Anything more reasonable than this

This is all so expensive. I cannot even think straight.

I ordered the Theralac. I also use the Ultimate flora twice daily. I have some Swanson acidopholis that I throw in as well. I also will get Saccharomyces Boulardii from Swanson. It is cheap but with these four things I hope I will be covered ?

I get VSL#3-DS (double strength) prescription through my CVS Caremark prescription coverage. I order 3 months supply at a time for $50.

Randibear, thanks !! Theralac is $15 cheaper on Amazon...geeze. I gotta try to cancel this order from master supplements. I guess you live and learn.

Momlyme, my Gastro doesn't think I need it and I am underinsured so that may not be an option for me [Frown]

My aunt has been in the hospital with a uterine and UTI infection. She became septic so they had her on IV Rocephin, Levaquin, and another oral abx, all at the same time.

This has been going on for weeks. I was leery of giving her anything not prescribed, but was worried about C-Diff. Have given her one dose of S. Boullardi per day for the past month and she's ok so far.

I think it can make a difference. There was a study done in a nursing home somewhere, and those given a daily dose of S. Boullardi had a much lower incidence of C-Diff.

I just went to Whole Foods and bought Jarrow brand S. Boullardi. Lots of folks on lymenet use Florastor.
