What is considered the effective Rifampin dose?
I take 600mg once daily on an empty stomach. I was told I need to do 900mg twice a day!
I take it with Bactrim, but I hear that Azthromycian or Minocyclin is best.

I start at 150mg 2x/day and work up to 300mg 2x/day. The standard dose is 600mg 1x/day.
I don't know anyone who doses at 600mg 2x/day, so please get confirmation of that.
I know a Lyme patient who messed up on reading her script and took 600mg 2x/day for a few days until she figured out her mistake. When she told her LLMD, the LLMD flipped, so I think that's an unusually high dose.

My daughter takes 300 mg 2x daily with Zith 250 mg 2x daily. She tolerates it just fine.

I was told to start at 300 mg daily for a week or so, then up it to 600 mg daily. Take on empty stomach, then an hour later take azithromycin.

I take it on an empty stomach as well. Does this mean only avoid solid food for an hour? It is tough because I have about an hour, to get ready for work, get my daughter ready for school and eat breakfast. If I take the Rifampin as soon as I wake up, that leaves no time for breakfast till I get to work. Can I at least have a cup of decaf coffee or tea? What is the purpose for the no food rule? My doc says 30-60 minutes before food. The label says 1 hour,

Not sure, just read that it works best on an empty stomach and according to NIH take it 1 hour before or at least 2 hours after a meal.
I was just told to take when I get up on empty stomach, then wait an hour and take my azith and plaquenil with food.
