I was cleaning up recently and going through the tons of books I have. I came across the pH Miracle, which I never even read.

I decided to start reading it. There is some good info in the book.

I ordered myself some pH test strips and am going to try doing some things to raise my pH levels. Right now, I'm hovering around 6.4. The book states I should be 7.2 or higher.

Anyone else ever do this?

I was surprised that the pH of the water I've been drinking is only 6.8. This is bottled water. I don't do tap but when I tested the tap water, the pH was no better.

I ordered some pH drops to add to the water. I can't remember off the top of my head what pH level was suggested in the book but I'm going to see if these drops make a difference.

Constantly. Bacteria cannot thrive in an alkaline environment. Nor can fungi.

You could always add lemon oil to your water. 10 drops twice a day will put you at a 7.

Or go to the pHion website - they have some great stuff - all about balancing your PH

I agree, testing pH is very important. But remember that the levels fluctuate frequently during the day, so don't worry if it goes up and down sometimes. The best time to check is the first urine in the morning.

I've read 'pH Miracle" before, and it's pretty good.

The most important thing we should do to have a healthy pH balance is to eat a healthy diet. Most of the over-acidity is due to too many acid-forming foods, and not enough alkaline-forming foods.

I agree that the pHion products are great. Their tests strips are my favorite - especially the ones with 2 pads for each strip.

I was just talking to someone about this this morning - funny you posted about it. And we talked about the PH Miracle and she told me I should get that book.

Apparently they sell the test strips at a lot of compounding pharmacies.

Our LLMD tested us for our PH levels and at the time I thought it was odd, but now I understand why.

Very true James. I'm currently trying to work more veggies into my meals. I still can't eat too many raw ones as they upset my stomach. If I eat a salad, I have to take 4 or 5 Betaine HCL caps and two digestive enzymes with the meal to avoid the pain.

I think that is improving though and for now I'm doing shakes to try and get more raw veggies. I'm thinking about buying some greens powder. Just need to figure out what brand!

I've also been eating the cultured veggies. I actually enjoy eating them now! I had a hard time getting them down at first.

Thanks lymehell for the suggestion about the lemon oil. I have been drinking lemon water and do notice my pH goes up later in the day b/c of it. The oil may be more cost effective though. I'm going through lemons like crazy!

Light green is better than me! I'm more of a yellowish green.

I'm going to see if adding the lemon oil or pH drops to the water makes a difference. I drink at least 2 quarts of water a day, maybe more and if the water I'm drinking is slightly acidic then I that is going to hinder my progress in trying to get to a 7.2.

first morning ph for both urine and saliva should be in the 6.2 to 6.7 range. Detoxing is hampered outside of that range. Toxic Heavy metals only go into solution in acidic environment. When you are killing pathogens, you automatically release some of the metal/chemical/environmental toxins, because the bugs live in the contaminated areas. Forcefully correcting ph is not a good idea. Read some Dr. K. publications/protocols.

Excessive water drinking also washes out many important minerals thus hampering detoxing even further. Insufficient essential minerals is one of the major reasons the body is unable to detox. So if you wash out the few essentials you still have, don't be surprised if detoxing and getting rid of any toxins has become difficult. That is what is making you feel ill = neurotoxins.

I use Young Living.com - it's about $11 for a bottle. I keep bottles of it everywhere - even one drop tastes yummy (beyond using just a lemon) and really breaks up the monotony of drinking plain water.
