I have heard, but I don't remember where, that there's a high incidence of breast cancer in lyme patients.
I'm the very first in my family to be getting all kinds of lumps and calcifications. I had surgery to remove some of this stuff about a year and a half ago, prior to lyme diagnosis and treatment. From analyzing what they removed, I've been told I'm now in the high risk for cancer category.
So now I have a big lump in my left breast which has started to hurt. I'm neck deep in abx and in no shape to be going through the jabbing, poking, and slicing I went through not so long ago.
I've been overwhelmed with lyme research, herxes, and trying to get through the few obligations I have left in life. I'm hoping someone has done some research on natural remedies to get the lumps to go away and on how to keep from progressing to cancer.
It's no help that my period has decided to quit on me now too, no doubt contributing to the lump factor. Too much estrogen, right? I'm not sure if natural progesterone cream would help.
Anyway, any suggestions for books or natural remedies are greatly appreciated. I know if I go to the doc it's back to slice and dice but maybe that's what I have to do. Eeeeek.

You are asking for remedies, when you are not sure of what the problem is.
From what I understand, cancerous tumors may not be painful. A painful lump in the breast tissue may possibly be an infection, a lymph node, or fibrous buildup.
You need to be examined to determine a diagnosis. If it's an infection, hot compresses might help.

Like Carol said, I was told that cancerous lumps may not be painful.

I've heard that Calcium D glucarate supplements block the bad kind of estrogen.
Try Essiac tea.
Here's a reference:
QUOTE QUOTE
Source Naturals Calcium D-Glucarate includes the patented compound glucarate which has been shown to enhance the major detoxification pathways in the body. Calcium D-Glucarate, the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid, is found naturally in the human body and in a variety of fruits and vegetables. Animal studies have shown that high doses of Calcium D-Glucarate inhibit beta-glucuronidase, thereby enhancing the process of glucuronidation, in which foreign organic compounds, fat-soluble toxins and excess steroid hormones such as estrogen are detoxified and excreted from our bodies.

Google Hulda Clark and The Cure For All Cancers. She believes that parasites, fungus, pesticides etc are the cause. (I tend too agree due to personal experience)
I have been doing antiparasitics (herbs and salt/c) for 4 yrs and it has saved my life. I have had sticky gooey rashes come out from under my breasts, through my belly button and out of my breasts.
When they finally pushed through I could see they were parasitic. I have read that worms can calcify when they die. There is a u tube video of a neurosurgeon who pulled a worm out of a womans brain not too long ago.
Please do a search on here for parasites and Lyme. Also check out

Carol in PA. I don't know what this new painful lump is about but I do know what was removed from me and that I'm high risk for breast cancer. So I'm looking to avoid getting breast cancer. I'm trying to learn how I can do that. Tamoxofin, a carcinogen itself, is the kind of thing mainstream doctors recommend.
Thanks others for your reading suggestions. I hope you're right that pain does not equal cancer. I'm worried I busted a gland or something. If the pain doesn't clear up I'll have to drop more $ on the boob doc.
Gael, I always see you advocating for salt c. Can you do that while taking abx or would that be toooooo much?

To be clear I am not advertising for salt/c per se, but just to make people aware of the parasite/worm connection to Lyme. I believe people do the salt/c along with antibiotics. If you or anyone else decides to do that you should ramp up slowly and drink plenty of water.

I have a lymph node in one breast that I have to have looked at every 2 months to make sure it doesn't change.
Anyone know if this could be related to Bartonella? Does "swollen lymph nodes" pertain to this kind of thing?
You just never know...

My theory is that the body, specifically the immune system, is working so hard to fight Lyme, etc that it fails to catch cancer.
I was diagnosed with stage 1 BC almost 5 years ago at age 49 and had a lumpectomy and radiation. I had a strange finding on a diagnostic mammagram a few weeks ago and had a biopsy which was nothing more than a very small cyst. In fact, during the ultrasound guided biopsy, I saw the cyst pop when the needle touched it. So false alarm, fortunately.
But I was floored with the initial diagnosis as I have no family history of any sort of cancer and my only risk factor was DES exposure while my mom was pregnant with me.
I am sorry you have to deal with cancer hanging over you. Cancer is big money in the US and I believe cures are out there and are being kept from the American public. Taking DIM helps with making the bad estrogens less dangerous, supposedly. If you can afford it, try to find a good MD who is a "wellness" type doc and have specialized hormone testing.
Best of luck.

Google these words:
Tamoxifen EPA
Together...extremely powerful.
Kill 2 "birds" with 2 stones...
Tamoxifen is a man-made PKC inhibitor that also just happens to block chloride channels.
Guess what Frontline does...(chloride)
P= protein K= kinase...transfer phosphate groups C = CALCIUM activated.
While Bb DOES have ONE PKC inhibitor, that doesn't mean all the other forms of PKC aren't "on" and other PK's too like PKA.
EPA is a known broad spectrum PCK inhibitor, but it also reduces many inflammatory cytokines (TNF a, IL-1 B, IL-6).
Sometimes Tamoxifen fails as the cells want to stay alive...in steps EPA to help out.
EPA also helps protect the liver from very toxic Tamoxifen.
EPA + ASA -> Rev E-1. Otherwise known as resolvin E-1.

I refused to take Tamoxifen following my surgery and radiation once I read up on it. I took it for about a week, but had horrible side effects. That prompted me to read up on it. And was shocked with what i learned. The oncologist was not happy, but I felt the risks far outweighed the so-called benefits.
I learned my lesson ... and will never take a doctor's recommendation without doing my homework.
Tamoxifen is bad stuff.

NO...much lower doses are given today and it IS very effective, but much moreso when one adds EPA.
The "horrible side effects" from solely Tamoxifen may have been impacting you-know-who.
Calcium activated chloride channels.

And on Tamoxifen: the World Heath Organization classes it as a carcinogen. So I don't get it--risk cancer to prevent cancer?-- and I won't take it.

I really don't know. Someone lent it to me when I had an abnormal bisopsy. It's as thick as a telephone book so it is not something one would read cover to cover.
Most likely she doesn't talk about alternative remedies.
It is still a very good resource to help you understand what is going on with your body.

sickpuppy, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this on top of lyme. Since you are high risk, please don't wait to have it checked. I lost my aunt this year to breast cancer that was caught too late.
There are a number of doctors who think mold/fungus could be a causative factor. Many foods have mycotoxins in them. There is a lot out there about the connection but here is a start.

Thanks for those great links TerryK. And ConnieMc--DIM looks interesting--will research more, thanks! So is it fungus, bacteria/viruses, or parasites making cancer? So many theories.

If fungus is behind some breast cancers, then it's possible that more lyme patients get breast cancer because treatment of lyme encourages candida - a fungus. Just a thought. I have nothing scientific to back it up.
Mainstream medicine has always been resistant to the idea that cancer can be caused by infection of any kind and they do not pay much attention to fungal infections unless they are life threatening in an obvious way. Now, we are finding that several cancers are connected to viruses or bacteria.
My other aunt died last year from the effects of chemotherapy NOT her colon/liver cancer. The cancer was in remission but the chemo was toxic and she was poisoned to death!
There is a protocol using paw paw for cancer but you would have to do some research to get it and I think it is more a cancer treatment than a prophylactic. It also treats malaria and I've been using it for babesia. It is one of the few things that actually increased my energy.

I have known of a lot of Lymies that get cancer- I think it may have to do with your immune system not being able to fight the free radicals.

I just saw your post...sorry to hear you have this worry...I have been dealing with breast cancer myself since this past May and believe I am getting rid of it naturally.
I just had a normal thermogram after being told that I would need a masectomy and radiation and tamoxifen. Next I'm going to do another MRI to see if it comes out normal this time.
My lump was painful and was cancerous (2.5 cm). I did not have a needle biopsy but instead had the lump removed in its entirety. Since then I have been reading numerous books about natural treatments for cancer and I have been going to two alternative practitioners.
I would recommend reading books about cancer by Russell Blaylock and Michael Murray. They will give you a protocol to follow which may be able to shrink the tumor. But I would get an ultrasound to get it evaluated. I would also get thermography done. I chose not to do a mammogram throughout this process due to the radiation.
Another good book is "Knockout" by Suzanne Summers. That book interviews various doctors who are curing cancer.
If you would like my protocol, let me know. I plan to post an update on my situation when I have more time. Diet is VERY important but it is not enough to kill it alone. Supplements that I am taking include V Statin (eats up cancerous tumors!), wheat grass tablets called Stress Release, shark liver oil, DIM, Vit C IV's and Buffered Ascorbic acid and many more.
The Calcium D Glucarate helped me completely normalize my estrogen within one month, which was off the charts high at the worst point in my cancer.
Good luck and let me know if you need any more info. I am still not out of the woods but it's looking very good.

Hi puppy, during the researching on selenium I came accross information about the link between selenium deficiency and cancer.
There was this study where 1 supplement of Selenium was given to a group and it did lower the occurence of cancer. There is much more on this slenium-cancer connection. You can look at google.
Best is to get tested in order to find out what is really missing in your vitamin/mineral/trace-mineral picture.
You can read the text on selenium and the immunesystem here on the board : Wish you succes and health, Leonard

Hi sickpuppy, I'm sorry you are going through this. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 8 years ago. I had lyme disease at that time, but it was misdiagnosed as CFS/FM.
I had the good fortune of excellent allopathic care, combined with naturopathic and complementary. In other words, I took the best of what western medicine could do for me, while seeing a naturopathic cancer specialist as well. Also added in acupuncture, visualization, qigong, yoga, reiki. I gave it all I had.
I would urge you to first get a proper diagnosis. Also very helpful to have a ND to help you with proper diet, nutrition, herbs, etc.
A very helpful book is "How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine" by Michael Murray. The treatment by the ND I saw for cancer used treatment/nutrition close to Dr. Murray's.
All of this can be very overwhelming. I hope you can find some support close to home.
Best wishes for your healing.

I had a breast ache for half a year on one half of a breast. I made it go away by taking:
Indole-3-carbinol @ 3 meals/day
8 Broccoli sprout pills @ 3 meals/day
I tried lower doses of Brocc sprout pills, like 4 or 6 per meal, but that didn't work as well as 8.
In addition, if i skip doses, some aches return fast! ( i think, i haven't tried that recently).
