I have tingling sensations in my left thigh which are now going down my leg. I had them in the other leg a couple of times too and once all over my left side. It come quickly and then is gone. It reminds me of the feeling of "a cat walking over your grave".

Does anyone know what causes this?

Thanks Jamers!

I was worried about bart coming back. I have also had mild body aching and yesterday it was in my shins. I will try getting back on bactrim ds until I see the LLND. The only drugs I am taking right now are Malarone and LDN.

I have lots of tingling in my shins, especially my right shin. Sometimes it's the weirdest sensation--almost like something is crawling around in there.

I figured it was Lyme. Do those of you with Bart get that?

I also get strange vibrating/twitching/tingling sensations in my feet and shins, especially when I lay down at night. Anybody else have that?

It is parasites and can be treated in very short time, no reason to suffer.

Agree with Karen about it being parasites. The parasites are living in the small intestine and along the G.I. track, and can press against nerves that are situated there.

Tx with antiparasitics is the way to tx parasites whether with Pharma drugs or herbs.

I used to think tingling was Bart. Now I believe it's parasites - from experience.

I tried ivermectrin about 6 months ago - nothing unusual, so I hope parasites are not an issue.

I think it is bart coming back out. I had to quit zithro which was keeping it down and shortly afterward I had some slight burning in my shins so I started bactrim DS. But my eyes started swelling, I was groggy and could not sleep so I quit it.

I have been trying to set up an appointment for a liver/kidney test. I will just start the bactrim tomorrow at half dose. Hope I can tolerate it for two weeks until the LLDN appointment.

Gael,
the lyme co-infection filarial worms are the tiny parasites which live in the blood vessels not in the GI tract. They are tiny tiny and this is why people think they have bart - they make red marks like varicose and spider veins...

They block veins like the mesentric and aortic veins.
The ones in the GI tract are not so dangerous.

Just an update since this was brought back up- I started the Bactrim DS at half dose this morning and within hours I was so dizzy I could not stand. Still in bed. I was fine before taking it.

So side effects of bactrim are vertigo and neuropathy including tingling and pain in legs. Who knows what is what.

Karen,

Willy Burgdorfer found Adult Filarial Worms in the ticks he dissected. There are 9 different species of filarial worms, two of which reside in the abdominal cavity and subcutaneous tissue as well as the mesenteries peritoneum. (I was dx with numerous retroperitoneal lymph nodes yrs ago.)

The adults I had come out of me and have seen pictures of on line look just like the ones pictured on www.lymephotos.com. The babies are very tiny and can reside and disseminate in other parts of the body.

Any disseminated hyperinfection of parasites that has had many yrs to invade the body can be very dangerous and cause secondary infection. Some of these worms also carry the wolbachia bacteria.

P.S.

There are many parasites that can reside in the G.I. track, and it's usually the case if ones immune system is not functioning properly.

They can be infected with many different parasites. I had several different parasites including roundworm and tapeworm infecting my G.I. track

nefferdun,

it also can be a die-off as the bactrim kills parasites. It has sulphur what they hate.
Officially bactrim and doxy do kill parasites.

Very often the side effects are exactly the die-off reactions.

I never had any problem with bactrim, except when I was already sick. Many people take bactrim without problems.

Harmony,

once you decide not to suffer just do a two week parasite program.

The wolbachia is the reason why the add the doxy.

Tingling and crawling sensations are probably a result of neuropathy. Anything that causes nerve damage can cause neuropathy. Many infections and even diabetes cause neuropathy.

I was told the vibrating was probably associated with lyme. I got the vibrating once I started ceftriaxone. I found that colloidal minerals kept it mostly gone. I was on Nature's Sunshine mineral chi for a few years and they finally left completely. You may have it as long as you are treating and/or mineral depleted.

Minerals get depleted with detox because they are needed for the liver to do it's job. Also, as bugs die they release heavy metals and I think our minerals get depleted with the release of heavy metals too.

This may not be the cause for everyone but it was for me.

The tingling was not my major focus today. My focus was twirling today - literally.

I took Bactrim DS for 10 months, no problem. Then I began to have some issues so I was off and on. Today a half dose was like getting hit in the head with a two by four. Major fatigue too. I was fine before I took it - nothing.

Just six days ago I thought I was close to well. What in the *&^$ happened! The tingling is not worms or parasites. It is neuropathy. It could be the return of an infection or it could be my body has just been damaged from all the drugs I have been cramming down myself for the last three years.

If I was close to well with the babesia, why would I have such a sudden and dramatic return of dizziness. It was completely gone. Makes no sense. Maybe it is just drug induced. Maybe the neuropathy is too.

Whenever I get ambitious and try to boost my dose I always get really sick. Every time I tried to add more mepron, or Bactrim or whatever, I just got sicker. And it wasn't just for a day or two. It took weeks to wear off; sometimes a month.

I think my body gets to a place where it just can't tolerate the drug I am taking any more. My biggest improvement always happens when I change drugs, not when I stay on them month after month.

I think I develop an allergy to them. i know I developed an allergy to zithromax. It was sudden. I had hives all over my body and it took four days to go away - which is how long zithro is in your system.

So although I am not well, I have to be careful that the drugs are not contributing to my symptoms. Malarone can cause many of the symptoms of babesia; some side effects are dizziness, weakness, headache, shortness of breath, muscle or back pain, insomnia, depression, anxiety and stomach pain.

I think the only way to tell what is happening is to take breaks now and then, at least for a few days but the last time I tried this, it lasted one day because of a return of symptoms. How could this infection take over in just one day?! I just don't understand it.

Nature's Sunshine mineral chi?
It worked in the long run so maybe it had antiparasitic properties and high zinc.

Kramberry,

most LLMDs have no training in this field. They are specialized in Lyme.

If you would be in a group for animals you would
learn this....
Just yesterday I learned from a treatment for a horse how to cure my eye problem. They have these problems every day.

You need to collect information at many places.

Magnesium supplements help with tingly/numbness..

Most lyme patients are LOW in Magnesium.

Had tingly and severe numbness in hands at night...within a few weeks taking magnesium..it disappeared!!

INGREDIENTS:

Chinese Mineral-Chi combines a full spectrum of naturally chelated trace minerals extracted from the plant vegetation of an ancient sea bed. It contains extra potassium to support the adrenal glands and natural grape, cherry and apple flavors. In addition, Chinese Mineral-Chi contains the following tonic herbs:
Gynostemma herb, considered by some to be stronger than ginseng, contains up to 80 saponins that feed the glands, especially the adrenals.
Lycii and schizandra berries support physical, mental and emotional energy, including sexual energy; balance the 12 meridians and energize the five constitutional types.
Siberian ginseng root, an adrenal tonic that acts as an energizer, supports the body in times of stress.
Astragalus root reduces stress, builds the immune system and acts an energizer.
Licorice root (DGL) is an adrenal/pituitary tonic.
Reishi mushroom calms, supports the body when under stress and supports the immune system.
Ginger rhizome is a digestive tonic to help assimilate other herbs.
Ginkgo biloba builds mental energy, alertness, clarity and focus.

Perhaps it does have antiparasitic properties. While I believe parasites are a big issue for many lyme patients I do not believe it was part of the vibration issue for me.

I started with colloidal minerals and that made a big difference in the vibrations but mineral chi helped even more.

karenl wrote:

I don't know about most but my LLMD has been pretty aggressive in treating parasites.

nefferdun - your logic makes sense to me.

ivermectin did nothing for me but albenza did. Many anti-parasitic drugs target only certain parasites. If you have parasites, you may need a different anti-parasitic. Not saying for sure that parasites are an issue for you but it might be worth trying a different medication to see if you have a reaction. Herbal antiparasitics didn't do much for me.

Jamers symptoms sound very similar to mine... I get the vibrating sensation all the time to varying degrees. I had a period of a couple of weeks where it decreased, but dont know why.

I also associate it with anxiety. When the vibrating is high, my anxiety is also usually high. It is especially seen in being startled easily. Usually with unexpected noises.

I have been clinically diagnosed with Bartonella & am on Rifampin & ABart.

Jamers, what you just described is exactly what I have been experiencing since I got sick. I have never heard anyone else describe this vibrating sensation, I thought I was alone, it is such a strange and unpleasant sensation!! In a way it feels good to know I'm not alone. It does seem to get worse with stress as well as random twitching. I would love to get rid of this, hoping doxy is helping in spite of currently feeling worse!!
