Past few weeks I have been having pain in my thighs and actually worse in my butt cheeks! I do have a few herniated and bulging discs in my lower back.. Any thoughts or concerns I should have? After lying down at night it is ok In morning then out of nowhere the pain strikes and last all day.... I can't win

I had this for months and months, then it went away. It went away during treatment for Babesia. It had been gone for about six months, but now it is back and the Babesia has relapsed. So I wonder if it is a Babesia symptom.

Ummm. I hope its not MY disks!!I'm only 22!
But I have the same thing- I have lower back pain, and also butt and thigh pain.
I thought the lower back pain was more muscular than skeletal, but I haven't had it checked out.
But it could be Babesia. I'm having a heck of a time getting rid of Lyme (tried going of antibiotics, relapsed immediately), and maybe it's because I have Babesia and wasn't treating it.
I'll have to ask at my next appt.

If it is disc problems, prolotherapy should help.
But I suspect Lyme/coinfections are playing a role... I have bad discs in my lumbar spine, but Lyme meds make my butt/leg pain go away.

You could try going to a good chiropractor, or using a machine called the Vivatek, if discs are involved.
If you're better after lying down all nite, then what about building in some more rest time during the day? And checking to see if certain kinds of posture make any difference.

I also think it is likely Babesia given your age. I've had this...and it is listed by Dr. S as one of the classic Babs symptoms.
As with other co-infections, there is a lot of overlap of symptoms between Lyme disease and Babesiosis. An accumulation of the following signs and symptoms probably warrant testing and/or treatment of Babesiosis:
___Chills
___Fatigue and often excessive sleepiness
___High fever at onset of illness
___Night sweats that are often drenching and profuse
___ Severe muscle pains, especially the large muscles of the legs (quads, buttocks, etc.)
___Neurological symptoms often described as "dizzy, tipsy, and spaciness," similar to a sensation of "floating" or "walking off the top of a mountain onto a cloud"
___Depression
___Episodes of breathlessness, "air hunger", and/or cough
___Decreased appetite and/or nausea
___Spleen and/or liver enlargement
___Abnormal labs (low white blood count, low platelet counts, mild elevation of liver enzymes, and elevated sed rate)
___Headaches (migraine-like, persistent, and especially involving the back of the head and upper neck areas)
___Joint pain (more common with Lyme and Bartonella)
___anxiety/panic (more common with Bartonella)
___Lymph gland swelling (more common with Bartonella and Lyme)

I have the same thing. I just thought it was from exercise or sitting too much. Never thought about the babs, but it makes sense.
