So, I am doing bicillan injections 3 times a week. Then I was suppose to add malarone and Levaquin.

I started Levaquin last monday. I took 4 days of it at 250 mgs. Ever since then I have no been the same at all. I stopped after 4 days bc I had bad bad tendon pain.

My upper arms are so week and my back is killing me I tried to go for a massage but it made it worse.

The otehr thing is I have no apetite and I am so nauseous. I can barely eat anything. I just feel so lousy. I am way worse then I was b4 i took the pill for 4 days.

I began reading about Levaquin and it seems this is similar to be floxed.

Symptoms
Burning and weakness in the upper arms
Stomach is a mess...which it shouldnt bc I am bicllan. I think I am going to vomit all the time.
dizzy
nasuous

I am so much worse after four days of Levaquin.

Any input would be greatly apperciated. I just emailed my LLMD

The herxing from Levaquin is VERY HARD. Weak arms and sore upper back sounds like a herx, not like tendon pain. It's good you emailed your LLMD, I closely communicated with mine when I was on Levaquin.

I was in a substantial amount of pain for six weeks, then I made great strides in my health with that drug. Epsom salt baths were my only relief. I can't imagine how bad a massage would have felt because I was so sore.

I'm sorry it's so hard for you. After four days of Levaquin, I felt HORRIBLE as well, but it ended up being a good drug for me.

They told me to stop it last week, I know I have a high Bart load. Its my main problem. But the back of my legs started to get tight and I had tendon pain around my ankles. Well that all went away. Now I am just a mess.

Way worse off then b4 I started taking it.

Its so hard to know whats a herx and whats a side effect. I wish there was a definitive answer

Since the tendon pain went away around your ankles and back of your legs, I believe you are safe. No tendon damage.

A herx can easily last much longer than a week.

Could it be that your body can't detox? If it can't, then every time you kill a lot of germs, you will have a bad herx.

To deal with that problem, the doc is to add binders like Welchol pills and cholestyramine, per Burrascano.

I herxed 2 year and 1/2 in bartonella and yes could last long.I have had it for decades and I treated maybe longer than anybody.Put it in remission and came fully after the car accident. It is the hardest to kill and the fastest to relapse.

Bartonella can make you really suacidial if you have a full blown bart. Some tendons , knee ankcles means low load.Brain herx is horrible.keep it in very low dosage until you build up and you will see you will tolerate .Include herbs as well. You can not escape the herx if the load is high and had it for very long.Over time as the load of the bug is less you will feel less herx.

Suggest you read this thread on detoxing. It also discusses the tests you can have done to see if genetically you have trouble detoxing.

Lots of good info here.

It is good you quit as soon as you had the muscle pain. I thought it was a herx because it was not in the joint and I ended up with tendonitis so bad it did not got away for 8 months.

Load up on magnesium and vitamin C if you are not doing so already. Alpha lipoic acid might also help with detoxing.

It is possible you could be getting the flu - it is going around and includes muscle pain and vomiting.
