I am sensitive to MSG and I'm looking to increase my protein.

Does anyone know of a protein powder (brown rice, whey, egg white NOT soy) that does not contain MSG or free glutamic acid?

Something suitable for someone who is sensitive.

Thanks!

HEMP protein powder - all that I know are just that, hemp. Fabulous hemp.

Okay, so the graininess is not delightful all by itself just in water but it's an absolutely perfect food in so many ways. And it can be mixed into anything at all, even some foods, just before serving.

In addition to a great amino acid composition, Hemp also contains those great omega fatty acids and fiber.

I prefer the milled hemp seeds, which are really minimally processed compared to rice protein powders that have gone through who knows how many processes on various machines -- you also never know where the rice is grown or how.

Most rice protein powder also has other stuff added. Same for the whey. Gotta really know where the cows "live" and how they are tended. And it goes through so many processes by the time it gets to us.

Hemp is most often just hemp - nothing else added - and usually from Canada and usually organic.

If the U.S. would just allow hemp to be grown here, we could solve so many problems as hemp has multiple benefits and uses of all its fiber, whether for eating, wearing or lodging.

SPIRULINA powder, too, contains a fabulous nutrient blend. Search: www.naturalnews.com

NATURAL FLAVORS? Not usually natural at all.

I have known for some time that I must also avoid all "natural flavors" as they act similarly to MSG for me.

Turns out, often "natural flavors" ARE MSG, just by another name. Sometimes not, but still it's best to avoid them for reasons of "addiction" -- Really, they are formulated to be addicting. Detail in video here:

Thank you Keebler and NJFitnessGuy

Keebler - what is a good brand of hemp protein powder?

I've never tried hemp before. Is it a low allergy food?

Xymogen I5 is the best I have ever tasted -- their chocolate is delish. Now , they are a bit pricier but when you factor you are not buying as much meat, that helped me.

I can't do dairy or soy... I tried hemp -- but I guess I did not mix it in enough stuff probably because I can't do a lot of fruit etc - yeast-- but this I5 Rocks...

I hope it helps!

I was also going to recommend hemp. I use Nutiva. I do not recommend Manitoba Farms.
