I started taking Zithromax 250 mg twice a day and Rifampin 150 mg twice a day. Have been on this dose for since Friday.
I am feeling one of my earlier symptoms which is tight jaw and throat and stiff tongue. Lots of muscle tingling and vibration. Is this a herx?
Is this Bart of Lyme?
Can I take xanax if I am taking Rifampin? Everyone where I read it says its contraindicated. Please help I am very anxious!!!

Again I am not a doctor. It's contradicted bc the rifiampin lowers the concentration of Xanax. So yes you can take them together in my experience.

Maybe Xanax is differenet, but my understanding is that the benzos are just not effective. Don't think they're contraindicated ie) they don't interfere with the rifampin. Ut;s the other way around.
I had to give up the rifampin because couldn't toldrate the anxiety when clonazepam and ambien stopped working as well.
I regretted stopping rifamin because I was improving on it at about 4 weeks.

You could talk to your pharmacist. They can advise better than doctors. Trouble was mine wouldn't listen and increase like pharm said.
