How long do most people stay on IV therapies before returning to oral antibiotics?

My son did four months, then went to orals. I think it depends on your symptoms, your doctor's inclination and what your insurance company is willing to pay for.

For neuro-lyme issues 6 months to 1 year is recommended.
I started with 20 month on orals (12mo with 1st LLMD, then switched LLMD), then 13 months IV Rocephin and another 3 months IV doxy, while mixing in various other Lyme and co orals.
Its been 10 month since PICC was pulled and still battling co's.

This is different for everyone. I got off IV at 18 months. Had a good six months of remission and now I am back on a three month pulse of orals to hopefully kick out the last this.

I was on IV for 7 months. My doctor felt that there were diminishing returns ( I wish I knew what they were )for any longer. I am fairly certain that this opinion was for his protocol though.
