I have noticed that in spite of losing weight my belly still looks big. I have been battling constipation for 10 yrs. I am thinking I may be backed up and need a colon cleanse.
I had a fiber one bar yesterday for the first time and a few hrs later I though I had food poisoning. The pain was unreal. Later I had a very, very productive trip to the restroom. Anyway, it seems I may be more backed up than I realized.
should i try a colon cleanse or would it be enough to add flax daily?

My functional medicine doctor is working on my gut and has me on Bile Guard. It's a gall bladder/liver support. Now that my gall bladder is working better, I don't get so constipated.

Thanks for the responses.
It's interesting that u mention that lymetoo, the last time I went on a flax binge (snacking on handfuls for several days) I started feeling weepy like I do when I'm premenstrual. wonder if that's related?
I will get the chia. I really enjoyed snacking on chia before, love the way it gels, feels neat.
I'll look into the dr. natura too.

Yes... flax can be a problem. Even Dr B said Lyme patients should avoid it.

Fiber itself is a huge problem with a lot of people I know. I know a girl who's better now, or maintaining at least, who did it on diet alone. The crux of her dieting isn't gluten free or sugar free, it's almost no fiber.

How did they know fiber was causing a problem?

She thought she was herxing so bad from kale shakes....but in reality it was massive amounts of fiber disrupting the gut and bloating it huge. So she tried juicing the kale which takes all fiber out and felt great...
So I did the same thing and noticed a large improvement from eliminating fiber from my diet.
It never did anything for me anyway. I would eat more and more and more fiber and would still be constipated. I'd eat a normal amount or less and still be constipated....So I just juiced and it helped about 20% overall....That's huge when you're really sick.
She found zero fiber made her feel good, then juicing made her even feel better than that.
It also runs parallel with a possible connection with another thread on here about the all meat/ no carb diet. Supposedly cured that woman. No fiber in meat. It's a stretch but maybe.
