Thank you for responding. My immunologist is considering this instead of ivig.

I have found two people only that have been on this and that worries me.

You will not get many responses here as this is a Lyme board.

Another forum that could help is: IDFFriends.org, this is for people with primary immune deficiencies.

Since you are asking about Hyqvia, sub-q Ig, I'm assuming that you've been diagnosed with a primary immune deficiency?

I have CVID. My doctor started me out on Hizentra. It's another sub-q Ig brand. My Immunologist prefers that everyone be on sub-q if possible. (The hospital ranked #2 in the country for Immunology and oncology so it's reputable...).

Most people love the ease and freedom of the sub-q Ig. It also provides a nice steady level of IgG rather than peaks and troughs caused by IVIG.

I didn't tolerate the Hizentra sub-q well though. I had very fluey symptoms and body aches for the whole week after. I also had extensive swelling, redness, and heat in the pocket areas where the Ig infused. That also lasted over a week.

We decided that Hizentra was not good for me due to the IgA content. I have no IgA so my body was reacting strongly to it in the Hizentra.

I also have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I already have weak collagen, so my body could not tolerate the sub-q infusions. I could not absorb the Ig and heal the pockets like a normal person.

I have to get IVIG, the infusions are long and boring. I feel worse when my trough is low, near when it's time to infuse again. I would much prefer to get sub-q if I could.

So, my advice, try Hyqvia. Only you will know if it will help you!
