Hi!
I am going to try and possibly see him too, if my next doc doesn't work out. I hear he's terrific and that he knows his stuff. Good luck and let me know what you think of him and how it goes!

fyi, be prepared to complete questionnairs 20 - 30? pages worth!

I've not gone to him but to someone similar in Minn.

Amy, in the links I sent you recently, go to my post about my 3 hrs. visit, all the body labs done and their results! This is what a GOOD LLMD does for you to look for the needles in the haystack where it isn't always JUST LYME symptoms!
Bettyg

Tutu, does he use Dr. Teitelbaum's FATIGUED TO FANTASTIC book, since his specialty is fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue like my LLMD does. I've been reaing it; 3/4 done with patient part then MDs part is in second half of book along with his questionnaires.

So Amy, you might possibly find it on his web site, I think it's titled, www.fatiguedtofantastic. com The supplements I'm taking is bsed on HIS recommendations from the studies he has done. Bettyg

hello-

My 2 cents...

I went to Dr. C one time this spring, and didn't have the most positive experience.

He is definitely very knowledgable, and kind. What I didn't like is that he has the same rotation of drugs for everyone. He didn't really look at my symptom lists/calendars to see what coinfections I might have. My 2nd LLMD Dr. B in NY could tell I have Bart right away. I asked Dr. C about different therapies, and he said "you can go on that if you want". He didn't really give his opinion.

The first appointment was overwhelming because he will give you a zillion statistics about Lyme patients. 90% have hypercoagulation, 95% have vision problems, etc. I would rather he looked at my particular situation and talk about my labs, and what was relevant to me.

Also, he and his staff told me to gather all my questions and call back in a few weeks. They were extremely nice while I was there. I had done quite a bit of research on Lyme before my appointment, and I read all of the literature he gave and then called the next month. His nurses were very short with me, and said I should set up a paid phone time. I only had about 5 questions. They seemed so bothered.

BOttom line is I wanted a more customized approach to my situation, and I wanted someone open to feedback or adjusting meds if needed, before the next appt 4 months later.

Good luck with everything.

I had the same experience and opinion as LZO chicago. I was treated by DR.C for over a year with somewhat good results but got stuck at about 80% better and then he could not help much any more. I am currently looking for a different doctor. Any one with suggestions?

Above is very exaggerated. Don't worry about the papers - it is very easy. The doc office will send out the papers ahead of time so you can take your time to fill them out with organized thoughts and you should bring copies of your medical records for his review.

I don't think anyone has found a perfect doc yet. I think every doc hubby has been to has their own list of favorite meds. The important thing is to find a doc you feel comfortable with. You and the doc are a team and need to be able to communicate.

Hubby has seen Dr C. He treats all patients for babs and bart and does not bother with excessive testing unless you request it. One of the most cost-effecient LLMD's. Also a very good doc for out-of-state patients. Does not require excessive office visits and can handle many things by phone or fax.

One very important point is that the doc gives a suggested dose of meds, but expects you to adjust the dose up or down depending on the level of herxing you are comfortable with. Some people like hubby just can not tolerate standard doses and can't take multiple meds all at once.

I feel that Dr C is an especially good doc for those who are self motivated and want to be in charge of their own treatment. If you expect the doc to make all your decisions for you, then this is probably not the right doc for you.

Dr. C in a nutshell--

Kind, sooo informative, has some of the nicest nurses and staff on the planet, they call you back EVERY time you call with a medication problem or symptom within the hour, he believed me and my daughter, treats very cost effectively, open minded and doesn't poo-poo alternative stuff.

I happily fill out his paperwork, pay the minimal fee of 2-3 dollars for a returned phone call. Last time I checked the phone company doesn't give doctors free long distance. I want this guy to be able to stay in business!

I have been dismissed and treated like sh** by some of the most prestigious, full of themselves doctors without any information or concern, so I am very grateful for a doctor who deluges me with information because he is so well researched and cares.

Sorry, that wasn't a nutshell after all! He's great, no regrets, we drive 5 hours to see him. [bow]
