This started when i was ten... About 25yrs ago. I was bit by a tick. Found out 2 yrs later that i had Lymes. Fought it with so many pills a day, didnt work. Doc put me on home I.V. Treatments. Didnt work either.. Finally went in hospital when i was 17 and knocked it into remission. I been feeling bad for nearly 6 yrs now and felt like it was back. I had doc do Lymes titer in march this yr. IgG came back high, also abnormal at 1.22...IgM was also high, abnormal at 1.82. Doc says he not worried bout igg cuz its not that high but worried that IgM means i had new bite, which i kno i didnt. seems like he tryin to find another reason for my symptoms... :-( so sad cuz he not helpin me

The following Lyme organizations give doctor referrals:
www.ILADS.org
www.lymediseaseassociation.org

You might also want to click on "Support Groups" in the upper left-hand corner of the Lymenet page, then the state you are looking for. Contact information will come up. Maybe they can help you.

Btw - please break up your post into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

It was winter and i dont go outside in cold... I have not had a tick on me since i was a kid... I have become afraid to be outside long.. And if i did have a tick, i would have had to pull it off cuz they dont just take a bite and fall off. That dr that i saw is in need of more schooling i believe.

Murphy, you have to edit your post and take out the doctor's name and city.

It is against the rules of LymeNet to use lyme doctors names and to give their city. You can only give their state. You can only use the first letter of their last name.

People can't read your posts because you have too many sentences in a row without any white space.

To get more folks to read your posts, break them up like my post is broken up.

Your will get a lot more help that way!

The doc you just saw is really not a lyme doctor.

Get to a good lyme doctor and you won't have to put up with that kind of stuff.

Do your homework and get yourself a good one. You want to talk to a few patients of the next doctor you are considering.

You want to find out if he follows the Burrascano protocol or not.

There are a lot of junky lyme doctors out there. I have heard a lot of complaints from people in New Jersey about how bad some of them are.

So spend a lot of time--a LOT--looking into the next doctor before you pay the money. Contact the lyme support groups in your state (see Support Groups on left side of page) to see who they say is good. And when you are seriously considering a certain doc, post here on LymeNet and ask about that doc.

Remember to just use the first letter of his last name and don't give the city where he practices.

I have no doubt you still have lyme disease.

I hope you know that the doc is the key to getting rid of this horrendous disease. Can't emphasize that enough. The doc is the key.

Many doctors treat lyme disease, but only a handful actually know enough to get rid of it for a person.

You have had lyme for a long time now, so you really need a top notch doc to get rid of it for you.

If you can't find a really top notch doc in your area, I know of a few. But, they will require you to travel for the first appointment only. After that, you can have telephone appointments.

Let me know if you want their names. One is in D.C. (you can take the train right to D.C.--no sweat, only takes 3 hours) and the other is north of New York City about an hour or so.

I got rid of lyme disease 7 years ago. I had to go to 3 different doctors. You learn as you go. So, I stick around here to give folks the benefit of my experience.

Also, a good lyme doctor is going to be expensive. You are paying for their expertise.

If you have not already read the Burrascano Lyme Treatment Guidelines, I strongly suggest that you do. They are here:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

Here's a quote that applies to your case:

"GENERAL PRINCIPLES
In general, you can think of LB as having three categories: acute, early disseminated, and chronic. The sooner treatment is begun after the start of the infection, the higher the success rate. However, since it is easiest to cure early disease, this category of LB must be taken VERY seriously.

Undertreated infections will inevitably resurface, usually as chronic Lyme, with its tremendous problems of morbidity and difficulty with diagnosis and treatment and high cost in every sense of the word." (page 3)

Your lyme was undertreated in the past. So, like it says above, it has resurfaced.

I strongly suggest you only go to a doctor who follows the Burrascano Guidelines. This way, you can actually get rid of this disease for good.
