Years ago, I was talking to Mike and others here, helping patients find doctors and sharing reviews. It's been so long since I posted on this -- pls refresh my memory on:

- how can I share a review confidentially with a TERRIBLE doctor

- which professional organizations can I write to with the same complaint

The nurse practitioner I saw in MA was so bad -- shockingly so -- I am compelled to write anyone who will listen.

I don't know the procedure.

I would create a post entitled "Bad Nurse Practitioner R in MA" and just say, "Nurse Practitoner R is so bad that you never want to see her. If you want to know her name, send me a private message."

The LymeNet rules allow you to give the first letter of the last name and the state. So, that is all you can put on the public board. I used "R" as the first letter of the last name just as an example.

Privately, you can give the full name, city, and tell what happened.

I don't know of any professional organizations that you can report this to. Perhaps check the ILADS website to see if there is something there.

If this is someone who treats a lot of lyme patients, I would think twice about reporting this person anywhere. Maybe share it privately with support group leaders in that area.

Not everyone feels the same way about a practitioner and you might jeopardize other patients' care if you go public. They will not thank you for it.

ILADS has no control over the behavior of its members any more than IDSA does over its members. These are voluntary organizations that have no discipline authority.

If this is not a lyme practitioner, then you can use the name here. It is only lyme docs, and allied professionals that cannot be named, as I understand the rules.

And if it is not a lyme practitioner, then you can also complain to the state medical board.

I personally think in this situation that a letter to the doctor who oversees this nurse practitioner would be the best bet. Maybe cause this person to shape up.

Breaking up the post for easier reading for many here...
