I saw my PCP today for the last time about my right shoulder pain since my hip surgery. He RETIRED IN 8 DAYS; we've been together 28 years!! After we hugged goodbye since he doesn't want a retirement party with his patients in attendance, he went out the door saying,

"YOU were my FIRST LYME PATIENT! 90% of lyme info I learned from YOU; the other 10% I learned from the INTERNET!!"

I kidded him, he can't leave....I've just got him trained right after all this time; so does his RN! LOL [Big Grin]

I asked him his recommendations for me getting someone to become lyme literate too; 2 new ones just joined the clinic; he gave me his choice.

I hate starting all over training another one! uffda big time. [Wink]

I guess if you stay with the same clinic your records should stay intact. Our older family doc has retired a time or two. THEN you have to be sure to get medical records(IF they were single independent practices)

Failure to do so results are NOT nice!! Nobody for them to trickle down to.

Not a happy time to change docs like this,,but be happy in the fact he is going to enjoy retirement,,,alot of them never get too.mostly--just don--

Skater, good hearing from you again, and thanks for good wishes on recruiting someone knowledgeable or WILLING to be!! lol [lol]

Azure, I like your kind of thinking; sending them my 58 pages of newbie package will scare them to death!! don't you think? [lol]

Don, yes, my 2 files at clinic are probably 4" total there. My home office of files are now 3 of a 4 drawer file since I fought 5 years for SSDI, and had to get ALL MY RECORDS from every md/specialist, etc!

I also have a special calendar showing all appts. w/who/addresses/treatment/pills/xrays, and record WHEN I RECEIVE EVERY APPT. MED NOTES BACK! I follow up if not received in 2-3 weeks. Everyone of the RECORDS folks me by 1st name!!

Thank you all for your comments! For now, I'll let it ride since I've still got my hip surgeon and a new uro-gyn at the end of this month! [Big Grin]
