My dad works for the fish and wildlife commission.
He most likely, also, has lyme.
Anyway, I gave him some of the LDASEPA Lyme Basics booklets and he put them in the main office for the other officers to take; they flew off the shelf and were gone very quickly.
He now likes to carry them around in his truck for when he goes out to check on the hunters.
(after a few incidents of people talking about lyme and tick bites, etc)
The other day, while on duty, he went up to a guy in the everglades area who had been hunting.
He was talking to him and they guy says to my dad "...i think i ran into a whole pile of ticks (they were all over his arm).
anyway, the guy said that he had been hunting there for years .... etc etc... had the joint pain fatigue, etc.
I think he told my dad they had diagnosed him with MS.
My dad went into the truck, grabbed a book and said. Read this booklet very carefully.
He told the guy about the Igenex tests and how the standard labs are often faulty.
(the hunter had said he was tested for lyme before but it came back neg)
He said ' this book might just save your life'
...I just wanted to share because I feel that as we each educate if not only one person, that person will tell someone, who will tell someone etc.
If nothing else, WE are helping people, even when the doctors fail to do so.
Love you guys!!!! Green

Green,
What a wonderful thing you did, educating your Dad, and having him educate someone else...and probably others too!!!
You and your Dad deserve a huge pat on the back.
Hopefully that man will get the help he needs, and then he can help others too!
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, the golden tick award--now there's something to strive for!
I agree, we should all be trying to educate people in whatever ways we can.
This epidemic is going to get much worse before it gets better, and we need to be proactive in getting the word out.
Kudos to your dad!!!!!!!
