I finally was able to read what the primary doctor wrote re: excusing me from jury duty.
he wrote that I could not stay awake due to extreme fatigue.
How little he knows of me or this condition although he was given the DVD Under Our Skin...
he said he fell asleep and then lost the DVD...
And I have given him the handouts from LDA and Dr. B's Guidelines.
Too bad he is the only primary doc in town that takes medicaid.
AT least he has helped me more than the primary doctor's before him.
he has provided sleeping meds and gabapentin and he is providing Biaxin...but feels very uncomfortable doing so.
I guess the bottom line is to hope that my note and his signed form will excuse me from jury duty.
Next paper work I need a doc to fill out is for my student loan.
I don't think he is the man for the job on that one.

PS. My first thought when I read the doctor's form was that he wrote this because when I saw him last I kept my eyes closed.
My system was on overload and I had forgotten my sun glasses.
I had turned the lights off in the room while I waited for him.
So, I assume that he assumes I was sleeping and couldn't stay awake during the appointment.
Sheesh.

I had the opportunity to move closer to a doctor that takes medicaid .....
but coming up with the health to move and the help and the finances and a place set me back health wise...
So, I dropped it for a while.
If they are still taking applications, I have 30 to 60 days after I am approved for low income housing to find a place and move.
it stressed me out too much. I recall it set me back several months when I moved here and I had lots of help.
I would have to go somewhere while they packed me up and moved me and unpacked me. it was all too much.
But, after getting things falling in place with my power chair, I once again am giving it a thought.

all I had to do is fax my disability approval letter to them at the court and that took care of that no more jury duty.

I'm just wondering.... You said you were applying for a student loan. How are you going to function in school if you can't tolerate jury duty?
Forgive me, I'm not meaning to sound accusatory. I am simply intrigued by yet another way that those of us so ill, yet able to continue on with life, or some form of it.
For example... Though I work full time, I am nearly always completely exhausted by the time my work day is over. I have driven home in tears, from pain. I work because I have to and as long as I am able, I will. My work pretty much takes all the energy I have. There have been times I have stopped at the mall on the way home only to find myself nearly collapsing and scared as hell that I would.
Even on my days off, I am faced with having to limit my activity. On day, my husband and I walked the length of the mall. (Not sure of the distance but it isn't anything a person my age shouldn't be able to do). I was in so much pain! After we got to the truck, my husband said he wanted to go to Sam's Club. I said I could not handle it. He suggested I use the electric scooters supplied by the store (because there was something he really wanted me to see before he purchased it). I reluctantly agreed...had never used one before. I felt like an idiot driving through the store; surely if someone who knew me saw me using it they would think I was being lazy. After all, if I can hold a job, why can't I walk in Sam's? That, and I am self conciouse about my weight (I've put a lot on due to my limited activity) and rather real or imagined, felt people were thinking..."if she'd only lose some weight, she wouldn't need that chair."
So...like I said...I'm not pointing a finger. Just curious.

my wonderful doctor said i had impaired cognitive abilities and would have trouble understanding the nuances of civil and corporate law.
he also stated that i have a physical disability which basically meant i had to be able to go to the bathroom repeatedly within a short period of time.

Gagahan....not able to read all you wrote due to brain swelling right now.
But, I am not applying for a student loan.
I have student loans that I can not pay and need a doctor's report.
