What can you do today? Or this week? A new goal?

I am going to try to do my arm exercises daily. I have been saying that for months. But that is my goal for the week. Just a small goal, but hopefully doable.

How about you?

[hi]

I am still in Phase one of moving....sorting through things and putting them in boxes for the maintenance man's yard sale for mission trips.

I just set them outside my door and he picks them up. Really helps.

We shall see what I am able to do this week. The less I need to move the better.

I thought I had down sized all I could but am finding more things I do not want to move.

I get so exhausted so quickly while doing this...est ablet o do something for 5 min and then need hours of resting.

But, at least I am able to do a bit....last time I moved I was only able to pack 6 boxes over a months' time and that was it.

So, seeing a bit of improvement this time.

Walking in the forest for 5 min is actually easier on me than the multi movement and tasking it takes to sort and put things in boxes.

KAM, I have found that purging my possessions was very freeing. I would look at things and think to myself, "Why have I kept this all these years??!!"

I have used the rule of if I haven't worn it in a year or used it in a year I donate it. That has worked pretty well for me.

I think it was the deciding that made me more tired than the actual packing. This last move I did what you are doing. I donated lots to Goodwill and then just packed the rest.

I hope you can get some free help along the way!

So far today I have walked up to the mail, washed the dishes, unloaded and loaded the dishwasher and vaccummed the upstairs and my MIL's apartment.

I still want to repot three plants and prune an old crab apple tree. Not sure how much will get done.

Have a good day every one!
Karen

I made it to the Vitamin shop and did some grocery shopping.

My family ate me out of house and home while they stayed for the week.

It is real quiet here. Finally!

I didn't have the energy to do much today. I need to get caught up on some good rest.

I will try harder tomorrow.

i've been mostly not here for awhile.

i have been going thru s moving back in experience after NOT buying a house when it flooded the day of the closing. i know it was a blessing but it has taken me a month to get unpacked and set up to live healthy again.

i've also had some new pain in my feet...??bart?? ??herx?? all i know is i can stand for about 10 min and then need to sit for 1/2 hr. if i was in my house i'd be using my wheelchair but t doesn't fit in this apt...so i am just really slow getting things done.

and my 12 yr old dog had a pancreatitis attack and i thought i was gonna lose him.

i did finally get on a horse again last thurs. she is cheaper than the last one i leased...i like hera lot but i think sh may be a little lame---her ppl don't think so. shes not lame at the walk and tht is all i need to do for awhile...so hope it works out. good for me mentally anyway.

i have been readingsome of what you all have been doing...but just too tired to actually type.

i also had a good llmd appt. i'm doing pretty good on buhner herbs...its my osteo arthritis that is getting worse and getting me down. oh yeah---i don't know if i ever explined that the PT figured out the bucking horse moved my SI joint around so i was walking with one hip 2 " higher than the other for 4 months and had really bad hip pain. i can't believe how she fixed it in a month and she taughtme how to readjust it. she was really good. and my hip is basically pain free.

my son wants me to visit him for a week in nj---about 10 hrs away. think i should do it?

kayak...good to hear from you. Brain is struggling right now so will re read what you wrote later.

but, glad you were able to go riding. I know that is good medicine for you.

Good to hear from you too Diane. quiet is good.

Karen...good to know that things got easier once the decision was made on what to keep and what to donate.

I am stressing out this am. Mgr stopped by to let me know what she has been doing on her end to help out.

Another neighbor dropped off boxes this am.

Able to put 3 more boxes of books out this am for the maintenance guy.

But that was a struggle for me.

Got to go to what I call the "healing ranch" yesterday.

The no trespassing signs and locked chain across the gates were gone. So, a friend that is visiting opened up the gates and we drove in this time..which was needed

AS being on my feet to walk in was too much.

But, I was able to walk to the painted rock to show here that and up the small hill to show her the gazebo, etc.

I really like it there. Wonderful piece of land and atmosphere.

Sad to see all the vandalism thought of the buildings.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Missed water therapy today but that is OK. It was worth being out at the healing ranch yesterday.

Moving my body more in the therapy pool would have made things worse.

Don..no hot air popper here. I learned I can't do pop corn...sure miss it.

Still have the urge to crunch...try GF things now to help with the crunching need.

Good job, Lymetoo!

KAM, the healing ranch always intrigues me. So glad you were able to get out there.

Kayak! Good to hear from you! So glad to hear that you found a horse you like. May it be a healing time during your rides.

Today, I walked to the mail. I finally remembered to do my arm exercises. I went grocery shopping and made dinner. I am wiped... I hear my recliner calling.

Kayak... glad you are back with us. I missed you.

Lymetoo... yes, I will make it. Wow 40 laps, thats great.

Kam... how did you get involved with the healing ranch? Glad you postponed the water therapy. It sounds like you got plenty of exercise at the ranch.

Kgg... I thanks for keeping this thread going.
hope you make your goals this week.

Me... I mopped the floor today and made the beds.
I have to get on hands and knees to mop because of all the dogs I had for a week made the floor so dirty, and it just seems cleaner when I do it this way.

Thats all I could do today.

Diane

another good ride today. i mounted by myself...that was good!

kam - i can so relate to the packing. somedays---many days it seems like all i do is take care of myself...food...clothes...meds...but usually if i think hard enough i can remember accomplishing SOMETHING...even if it was just making a dental appt or talking to one of the kids.

kgg-i cannot believe i am in nh and i have peas and spinach coming up before april 15th!!!

tutu-yeah-it floded on the outside up aboutve the siding. it wa on a slab and there was no access to the space between the floor and the slab. my brothers a builder and he said it waould be trouble for me with my mold allergy etc. so i backed out. i lost money tho. but not as much as it would take to jck up the house and redo the floor i guess.

Be back to read what others wrote when that part of the brain is working.

Able to sort through school books on one shelf and pack a box for donation this evening.

My friend that is visiting from CA and I went to the 3rd creek crossing today and had a good outing.

I usually am on my feet 5 min, rest and then back to the car.

I know I was on my feet longer this time but don't know how long.

I am in pain now...but thankful it will go away after a while if I stay off of my legs.

Friend is going to help me pack. Hurray!

Glad I came by and got caught up on what ya'll been doing and what's happening--so much variety, a little bit of everything going on.

Last week my hubby and I flew to Florida to visit our son and his family. We went to the beach, which I hadn't been to in years. It was great jumping waves, splashing and swimming with my grandchildren. I got a good workout. Can't wait to go back, hopefully for my granddaughter's first birthday in October.

Blessings all.

Lymetoo, just sitting watching the beach is awesome. And getting to catch a sunrise or sunset is "frosting on the beach". I didn't get to see the sunrise or sunset this time, but I look forward to that. It is always sooooo inspiring!

Yesterday I did bed linen laundry and changed two beds. I also did dishes and some weeding of my garlic beds and perennial beds. I did not do my arm exercises yesterday but did them this morning.

I hope to get some more weeding done before they take over everything!

I purpose to get to the beach this summer. Maine has such a beautiful coastline and I have stayed inland except for a single trip to Acadia National Park. This is not acceptable. You have motivated me to put it on my "must-do" list. Thanks.

KAM, what a wonderful friend to help you move!

Best,
Karen

We hope to get our planted this weekend.

This will be the first year we don't have a small garden. We plan on traveling this summer we decided we just wouldn't have the time to tend to it.

Today I worked in the yard a little and did some house cleaning.

Hope all is well.

Again, I hope to read what you all are doing later when that part of the brain is working.

Friend is packing dishes as I lie here. WE had a good outing today.

Went to Fossil Creek. Found a short hike down to the swimming hole by the bridge.

I floated on my back with the current a short ways and then laid in the sun on the bank.

The gate to the bridge was open so we were able to drive on the bridge first in order to see where the swimming hole was and how we would be able to get down.

We had the place to ourselves. Very nice and the water temp and weather was perfect.

Kind of hurting now, but not as bad as when I went to Fossil Creek in the past so I think it will go away once I lie here for a bit.

It was one of those days when I had moment of feeling normal.

I did have one lyme brain thing....knew something was wrong with the camera...thought maybe the batteries were low but continued to snap pictures.

As we were driving out my friend suggested it might be because there was no film in the camera.

That was it. Oops.

And my friend left the keys in the door of the car while we were at the creek.

Did the 10 min loop in the forest this am with my friend talking most of the walk.

Brain is a bit inflamed right now due to it, but I think it will be OK if I just veg for a while.

Friend left. Spring Break is over for her. Back to teaching.

That week went so fast and I am so glad my health was on a good cycle while she was here.

It really makes a big difference having some else doing the cooking and the cleaning too and the shopping for food.

Got the car vacuumed out, but she did 99% of the work and I did 1%.

I find it so strange that I get exhausted when others are doing the work. Go figure??

Diane, I think it was a smart decision not to have a garden if you will be traveling. That is a fair trade off in my mind!

KAM, so glad you were able to have a nice week with your house guest. For me it is the noise and activity that tire me whether I am doing it or not. That is why all of this house remodeling has been hard. Nothing quiet about a hammer!

Today, I walked up to the mail. Went to the grocery store and made lunch. I also did a few loads of laundry. I started to nap but was awakened by one of the carpenters. Surprisingly, I do not feel bad for missing the nap. Hopefully, it won't hit me later.

Kayak, my son just finished Keflex and it was hard. I also find that there are times that dental work will make me flare. Hope you feel stronger soon!

Take care-

After my friend left, I slept until 4 pm today. My friend things I also fell asleep around 7 pm last night until about 10am this morning. I just know i was in and out of sleep and out of it for longer than usual.

Melissa, glad you were able to do the pool exercises.

Karen, thanks for reminding me about laundry. I need to get to that pile around here. Can't imagine having remodeling going on.

I know it will be nice when it is over...same with my moving. I know it will be nice when that is over too and I am settled in.

Kayak...those horses have a mind of their own...that is one way to get your exercise!

Sure hope you are feeling better soon.

Diane...glad you were able to work in the yard and do some house cleaning.

Getting up now to see if doing laundry is do able. Most likely not. I think putting some frozen fish in the oven and cooking some veggies is my first goal.

Sat am: able to drive Rosie to the dog park. Good outing as I was able to throw the ball for her and only 2 others there plus 3 small dogs.

Rare I can throw the ball...usually it takes all I have just to walk in and sit down.

Sun am: shower, 10 min loop at the Green mansions (forest) A few birds singing here and there. Morning air was still damp. Nice

Considered touring the inside of the house that is being built there as it is a work out in itself...several levels so need to go up a few steps here and there.

Decided I would prefer the trail and seeing green and nature.

Good choice as when I came back they were working on the house...hadn't expected that...

Weak on the trail and exhausted...but recalled those days when I would take a bath and had to lay down for an hour or so before I could get dressed.

So, I am seeing improvement....able to shower and get out the door and go for a short drive and then short walk

I think I am going through a good cycle now...sure hope it continues.

This week I was able to go to Spirit Rock, 3rd creek crossing, fossil creek and the phoenix trail...

It really helped that my friend did the cooking, shopping, cleaning and driving....

It makes such a big difference to have help.

She went back home and back to work on Monday.

So, we shall see if the good cycle continues this week.

If not, it was still so good to be able to get outdoors.
