Hi folks:
Very excited. I've managed to organize a community screening of "Under Our Skin."
It will be in May (likely May 11) at the Duxbury Performing Arts Center in Duxbury, MA.
I'm very excited about this. THe people at the PAC are being extremely generous by charging my only the bare minimum to rent the facility since it is a community event.
Once I get the contract signed this week, I'll be advertising through the UOS website and in our local support groups, papers, and schools. The PAC can seat 975 people.
Very excited and happy I can give back. I'll need help to spread the word as the time approaches.
I realize this should probably be in activism. Sorry...but I'm excited!

That is exactly what needs to happen here in NJ. NJ is supposed to be one of the most heavily infested, but do I see a support group here for NJ??? Unbelievable! How did you make it happen bcb?

Just a little effort, a little money, and a lot of passion.
I called the local PAC. I bought a version of the DVD that has rights to be shown at community events. I'm fronting the money (less than $200) and will try to get local associations to sponsor it. I'm going to print out the flyers, get the local health board involved, and call local papers.
Not hard, really.

Good for you!! I held a screening when the film first came out. It is wonderfully rewarding. I'm hoping to do it again this year.
Try if you can to get in with the PTA. I didn't have enough time with my screening, but I was able to get posters up at some of the schools.
It think it's so important for parents and teachers to learn the truth. And it will be just before school lets out for summer.
I hope you pack the house!!
