Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
If God be for us...who can be against us? Hello? That is a no brainer.
Be encouraged by the following selected verses from Romans 8,
"We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
If God is for us, who can ever be against us. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else?
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below--indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Amazing how when I take the time to stop and read God's word and remember his promises my level of fear and worry almost instantly decreases. Probably because that's the way he intended it to be!
Daisy, thank you for sharing the verses above. I needed the encouragement.
Friends, thank you for praying for me My surgery went well. There were some freak out moments but God provided for me.
Will you all please continue to pray for me? I feel so selfish asking but I know that I need it. I've had a rash on my chest that I've been watching for a couple days. Was hoping that it was a reaction to a cleanser used before surgery.
Unfortunately, the rash has gotten much worse. And now I have fevers. I called my surgeon this morning and talked with his nurse but did not get a call back. I am worried since I have the immune deficiency and this is all right over my new port. It's just scary.
Hopefully my surgeon will see me and if it is some kind of infection he will know how to treat it. I know from past experiences my local GP won't want to get involved. And my LLMD is too far away to go see. So I need some prayer help Posts: 5237 | From here | Registered: Nov 2007

Sammy, that is concerning with the added fevers. I am praying for you. May God continue to calm your fears and calm your anxious thoughts. May the Lord make a straight path for you to see the doctor right away.
If the doctor's office hasn't called you yet, I encourage you to call them this morning. We have to take our health into our own hands...while the Lord holds us of course. The Lord does give us a mind for a good reason.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Phil 4:6-7)

"They shall mount up with wings as eagles" Isaiah 4:31 There is a fable about the way the birds got their wings at the beginning. They were first made without wings. Then God made the wings and put them down before the wingless birds and said to them, "Come, take up these burdens and bear them."
The birds had lovely plumage and sweet voices; they could sing, and their feathers gleamed in the sunshine, but they could not soar in the air. They hesitated at first when bidden to take up the burdens that lay at their feet, but soon they obeyed, and taking up the wings in their beaks, laid them on their shoulders to carry them.
For a little while the load seemed heavy and hard to bear, but presently, as they went on carrying the burdens, folding them over their hearts, the wings grew fast to their little bodies, and soon they discovered how to use them, and were lifted by them up into the air... the weights became wings.
It is a parable. We are the wingless birds, and our duties and tasks are the pinions God has made to lift us up and carry us heavenward. We look at our burdens and heavy loads, and shrink from them; but as we lift them and bind them about our hearts, they become wings, and on them we rise and soar toward God.
There is no burden which, if we lift it cheerfully and bear it with love in our hearts, will not become a blessing to us. God means our tasks to be our helpers; to refuse to bend our shoulders to receive a load, is to decline a new opportunity for growth.

Sharing this with you guys because I KNOW you will pray for my friend Deborah's son, Caleb. Caleb is a 21 yr old college student at Texas A & M.
He has a head injury from a skiing accident last week and is still unconscious. Please pray for his full recovery! Thank you!!!!!
Deborah and I taught school together in the 80's. She's a dear.

Thank you all for praying for me.
I did end up having a skin infection. Went and saw my dermatologist because my surgeon's office didn't call me back until friday!
Bad rash + surgical site + fevers + patient with immune deficiency = not good sign. Simple math to me.
The surgeon's nurse or MA told me to take some benadryl for a few days and that should help. I just said "OK", didn't have the heart or energy to try to tell her all that had happened. I'll educate the surgeon in person when I go for my follow up in a couple weeks.
My LLMD is also ramping up my IV antibiotics to help cover for the surgery and fevers.
And I'll be getting my monthly IVIG infusion on monday so that will be a much needed help for my immune system.
Thank you all so much for praying for me. This port is so new and to already have problems associated with it is scary. Thank you for being here for me.
MDW, I had never heard that parable of the birds. Thank you for sharing it.

I wish I could post a video that was posted on his mom's facebook. It was so funny!! A friend of his was singing a well known song. Can't remember it now (Band Perry, I think).. but she was lip syncing it and he was "playing" a paper guitar!
It was a picture of a guitar and he was "strumming" it against his chest. So funny!

Recently I had a question that popped into my brain, "What are you willing to give up for Jesus?" What? So many thoughts entered my heart and mind since then.
This is the time of the year when reality hits; a new year which holds new goals for change in our health, relationships, jobs, our future, and so far things look the same as they did in December. I could keep it simple and say, my New Year's resolution will be going to a truck weigh in...I do believe anything over two thousand pounds on the scale is overweight at these stops along the highway.
"He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." ...Missionary Jim Elliot, killed while attempting to tell the Waodani people in Ecuador about Jesus.
But the gate is small and the road is narrow that leads to true life. Only a few people find that road. Matthew 7:14
Imagine trying to walk down a narrow path that is hemmed in by thorny vines and low hanging branches and you're wearing a backpack overstuffed with the many things you think you need.
Imagine how exhausted and frustrated you'd be as your heavy backpack kept getting snagged in the branches and the vines. You'd begin to see that many of the things you carried were more of a hindrance than a help, and so one-by-one, you'd start pulling things out of your backpack, regretfully tossing them aside.
Imagine how you would feel when you come to the end of the narrow path and discover that to get to where you want to go, you have to squeeze through a very small gate. You start to pull the last of your things out of the backpack, but then you realize there is no sense in taking an empty backpack through the gate.
So you reluctantly leave it behind and head through the small gate into a new life. It is your life in Christ and you have followed Jesus down this narrow path and through this small gate into the kingdom of heaven.
Inside the kingdom, you realize you've made your journey more difficult than it had to be simply because everything you'd been so reluctant to leave behind is useless in your new life. And the things that Jesus provides for you in your new life are far more precious than any thing you left behind.
When Jesus demands our allegiance, he isn't trying to take good things away from us; rather, he knows the world is coming to an end and he is trying to prepare us for an eternity living with him.
How are you doing with your goals and plans for this Decade of Destiny? What's that one thing you're reluctant to give up? Maybe it's not a thing; maybe it is giving up the lack of discipline when it comes to your finances, or your health, or your Bible study.
Whatever it is, Jesus brings you to this choice... Will you trust him when he says you need to give this thing up, or will you insist that you need to carry an overstuffed backpack throughout the next ten years?
Jonah also came to my mind...I can relate to him, Jonah tried to keep God at a safe and comfortable distance and also with his difficulties of having faith. When Jonah preached in Neneveh, he didn't get that right either, he got angry with God.
Mark 1:14-20 Jesus says " The time has come." "The kingdom of God is near." Passing along the beach of Lake Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew net-fishing, "Come with me. I'll make a new kind of fisherman out of you."
So, what do they do? They didn't ask questions. They dropped their nets and followed.
Yes, I know...faith and obedience...tough one for this human being...What am I willing to give up for Jesus Christ?

Lymetoo...This is beautiful news you share about about Caleb. Shall continue to pray for him.
I was taking my Kameron to school this morning...He does not enjoy the bus noise first thing. I am so thankful to have been able to do this for him. The sky was absolutly gorgious with colours of the sky waking up. Psalm 103 came to my heart. It's a long Psalm but one I would not skip a verse on. I will share with you....
103:1-2 O my soul, bless God. From head to toe, I'll bless his holy name! O my soul, bless God, don't forget a single blessing!
103:3-5 He forgives your sins...everyone. He heals your diseases...everyone.
He redeams you from hell...saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy...a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness...beauty eternal. He renews your youth...you're always young in his presence.
103:6-18 God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet. He showed Moses how he went about his work, opened up his plans to all Israel. God is shear mercy and grace; not easily angered, he's rich in love. He doesn't endlessly nag and cold, nor doesn't treat us as our sins deserve, nor pay us back in full for our wrongs.
As high as heaven is over the earth, so strong is his love to those who fear him. And as far as the sunrise is from sunset, he has seperated us from our sins. As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him. He knows us inside and out, Keeps in mind that we're made of mud. Men and women don't live very long; like wildflowers they spring up and blossom,

103:19-22 God has set his thrown in heaven; he rules over us all. He's the King! So bless God, you angels, ready and able to fly at his bidding, quick to hear and do what he says. Good morning God Thought family,
I pray God gave you peace and mercy in your night. Awaken with an attitude filled with hope, love and promises.
We all understand how beautiful it would be for the comfortable moments to last; wrapping ourselves in a soft comforter, holding a cup of hot coffee, and listening to the crackling of a fire in the fireplace on a cold winter morning.
But, life as we know can be filled with suffering, hardships and everyday trials. Even great moments carry a slight imperfection. God does bring good out of bad. He uses suffering to teach us His sustaining power and He uses storms to bring rainbows.
God has so much for us in this life right now. He is teaching us to reach out to those in need in whatever way we can. It means touching, caring, loving giving, sharing. Jesus set the example.
I am reminded to give God thanks for the times of comfort; for it is a gift, and the many other gifted blessings He brings me each day. Love my Jesus.
May you also have a blessed day with many gifts.

Thanks everyone for posting songs. They are awesome and I seem to find them at a time when they are needed.
Lymetoo, I am keeping track of Caleb's journey and am glad to hear of his improvements.
There is a church in our community that is having a healing conference this weekend. They will be praying for the sick. I am asking to encounter GOD in a way that will dismantle my stronghold of fear so that I can make room for His healing touch on my life. I know it sounds strange to be afraid of God...but I battle with it nonetheless.

Reaping and Sowing in Prayer
Many of you have spent much time recently praying for Caleb Jentsch as he recovers from his traumatic brain injury. The results have been remarkable. Keep up the good work. What you may not know is that this fall Caleb was strategic in praying for another college student who had a head injury.
Caleb served as a counselor at a camp for incoming freshmen this summer. Students are assigned to a small group at the camp and the counselors keep tabs on them through the freshmen year. One student in Caleb's small group that he got especially close to was Pierce. Right before school started Pierce was injured in a skateboarding accident and had a severe head injury. When Caleb got the call from Pierce's dad, Pierce was near death. Caleb organized a prayer meeting for Pierce at his home to pray through the night, over 40 students came. Here are Caleb's words from a letter that he sent out before his skiing accident.
"As everyone was praying I just stopped and realized that in that moment Father was receiving glory by us just meeting with him. It was such a powerful and beautiful time of just meeting with the Lord...About 4 hours later, I received another call from Pierce's Dad saying that the bleeding in Pierce's brain was coming to a stop and he was progressing...The power of prayer works. I told everyone at my house and we were all in awe of Father."
Pierce made a remarkable recovery and had an incredibly successful rehab. He is in classes this spring semester. When Pierce heard of Caleb's accident, he and his father flew to Denver to pray for and visit Caleb. Pierce was one of the over 300 students who met in a prayer meeting for Caleb this past Monday at the Baptist Student Center at Texas A&M. What an incredible irony? Can it even be called that?
The Bible is clear that we will reap what we sow. Is that true in prayer as well? If we have prayed, led people to pray and then stand in need of prayer, do we reap some of what we have sown in prayer? It sure seems so. God is receiving glory in this and as Caleb wrote, "The power of prayer works."

soccermama ... the healing conference sounds great. Just to be in an atmosphere of faith would be healing. Please post more if you do attend.
I've been reading Joan Hunter's books on healing. She has been through so much, her testimony is encouraging.

My SIL has several of her books and has been raving about them. Then my friend Deborah (caleb's mom) mentioned Susan Young's "Jesus Calling." I think that is also my SIL's favorite.
It's written as though Jesus is talking to you.

Good evening friends!
Thank you for continuing to pray for me. I'm still trying to get used to having the new IV port. I am very aware of it and it is still sore at times. Reminds me that I'm healing.
The infection at the surgical site is improving slowly. I'm very thankful that my doctor recognized the severity of my situation and is treating me appropriately. That was a scary situation.
I've also been on a new IV antibiotic for Lyme and I'm already starting to notice a difference. The fevers that I've had for the past 8-10wks (since stopping the other IV) are finally gone! I haven't had a fever for a couple days now
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you all with this update. Before today I wouldn't have had much to say. I've only started to notice the improvements within the past couple days. And most of my days have been full of doctors appts so that tends to make time go by in a blur for me.
Thank you all for continuing to share your songs, and thoughts and encouraging verses. I may not post much right now but I still stop by to see what's going on in your lives and to pray for you too!

Good Morning!
Thanking God for His touch on my life. I continue to feel good and have energy. I'm glad for His leading regarding areas of my TO DO list that could just be totally crossed off. Less stress is a good thing.

Sammy, glad there is some "light at the end of the tunnel" and that scary situation has turned out ok. Sounds like your doctor is a gem and genuinely cares for you.
I, too, so enjoy the songs. Thoughts and prayers with everyone. Thought these verses fit the thread.
Psalm 27:1-2

Surely God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
