Not sure how to help here.

Do you need advice on more supplements or on how to better take care of your needs?

To manage post lyme stuff...the basics-i know sleep is really impt and no sugar-i have a set of supps that help me-but specialcooking all from scratch-minimal cleaning of living space-and even cleaning me...i cant get it all done

So i thought if i focussed on the most important and did that then id feel better enough to do more

I think i really need to get a better wc. When i have a good one i can get a lot of chores done with less energy-i keep almost falling-the worrying wears me out...

Yeah, it does sound like you need a new wheelchair. Can you get one sometime soon? You don't need to add MORE problems to your list. [shake]

Do you still have helpers coming over? Can they cook some meals for you and freeze them?

Im so lucky to have really good insurance but with the changes there is no place to go buy a wc. I have to order it without seeing or trying it. Then if it breaks i have to send it someplace far away-that will cost a lot and probably take a long time. I used to know how to get things done and now all the rules have changed. Its just so hard to keep learnung new things

Well Tutu has the best mag she's ever used. Remag.

I'm using Swanson brand timed released which is real important. Because body only uses so much and dumps the rest.

Good mag will also help with sleep. It's not a miracle supp, but adding it in a doing a dose at night does make a diff.

I love my berberine from Swanson. It is one of the most beneficial things I've ever taken. I went there because my cardio wanted me on statin. Not happening.

Berberine research said it would help and oh did it ever drop my numbers. But the real research on Berberine talks about the diff it makes in diabetes.

It is suppose to do amazing things with that. So it must do something with bad sugar in body. Keebler and Marnie have great threads and reading on Berberine.

Berberine the first 3 weeks I was on it was a herx herx herx reaction for me. Because of my sx during that I believe it was killing off some yeast/candia. only one 400mg

After I got over that I increased it to 800mg a day. Felt better. wow I just felt different. It also helped my UTI that I had been fighting daily for over a year. I had tried abx, d-mannose, you name it, but Berberine got me in control again. The I noticed inches around my waist started dropping?

I carry my weight in the belly like many lyme folks. So being able to get back in my size smaller pants and not feeling bloated was huge for me.

Finally got up to 1200mg spread out thru out the day. So read the posts on Berberine.

I hope you find wc of your dreams lady. I'm sorry you are so overwhelmed. Are you taking anything for depression or anxiety?

Pam

LP,

Not sure if this is possible for you LP, but a slow cooker is real good for making a whole bunch of freezable food at once.

On my good days I use the food processor to do the chopping. throw it in the slow cooker. Turn it on and leave it for 8 hours.

When it is cool, I put it into 2 cup containers and into the freezer.

I have a big slow cooker. It makes about 14 meals worth of food at a time.

I thaw a container in the fridge overnight. Then I have it for lunch or dinner.

Also Europe's Best frozen veggies are OK cooked in the microwave.

Can your caretakers do the shopping for you?

And if worse comes to worse, you just fly over to here and live with me.

We'll eat frozen stew for 14 days in a row together.

Pam-i am so glad you said that about berberine. I take a bunch of things for my heart butalso have high lpid numbers and cant take statins-so i am going to try that

I take vistaril for insomnia. It is also has anti-anxiety properties. I have begun to sleep all the time so cut it back. I wonder if that has something to do with how im feeling. Ive been having night mares always about not being able to do things i need to do.

Today i relized the doc switched me to the generic vistaril-that never made me sleep before. I have to check into that

Greta-i sort of do that without a slow cooker-i make stews and soups with veggies and quinoa or other protein. I have never found helpers that could cook. I can do it if i have wc. Itsbettrr for me to pay someone to vacume or do shower or change bed cuz those things relly hurt and wear me out for dys

Id really like to have your recipes tho

Thankyou all. This is what i need so if there are any more ideasout there please put them here.

I lost my phone twice in two days and today put half a cup of coffee down on the counter and completely missed the counter! What a mess.

Maybe i am not getting good sleep at night and that is why i am so messed up. Or maybe i really overdid using my messed up brain with a lot of paperwork in the last 3 months. It really wears me out.

And im mad,sad and confused aboutknee that had surg getting worse instead of better-and doc keeps saying its fune and he should fix the other one now.

Anyway thank you for taking time to write

First of all, I find getting decent sleep to be important in handling anything else at all, so I suggest you get that worked out if you can, re sleep med, pain med, etc.

When I have a lot to handle, I sometimes make a list of what I need. It could be a visible list, or a journal, whatever works. I put to-do's on in it, progress notes including obtained info and contacts, and check off items as I do them.

Seems to me one of your top priorities is getting a decent wheelchair, so to research what that means, re all your options. Would your insurance allow you to get two wheelchairs, so you can still use one when one breaks down?

Re your knee, what about getting a 2nd/3rd opinion about what's going on?

kayak .. One thing I found out when I was put on Vistaril for IC is that there are two kinds of hydroxyzine. One is hydroxyzine pamoate and one is hydroxyzine palmitate.

One of those makes you drowsy, the other one does not. Maybe your Dr accidentally got those switched?

You could call your pharmacy and ask about this.

I THINK Vistaril is hydroxyzine pamoate but I'm not positive.
