Am I in for a rough ride?

I am treating for neuro-cognitive symptoms, and would love to know others' experiences with this drug for neuro symptoms.

Thanks! mazou

Some people start to improve.

I did not.. the worse till it better applies too me. I am on it 2 months.

I'm usually one of those "worse before it gets better people" too.

You will feel up and down and may have new symptoms.

I was on it for 2 weeks, and I wish I was back on

it.

1st week on it right now- Started Wednesday...

-Sour stomach, not settled
-just not with it feeling
-tired and a bit down

-It is also my 4 week herx pattern on iv doxy and my hormones.

Are you taking any other antibiotics?

My rash (see earlier post) has not been linked to the medication and seems to be getting better. I missed 1 day of treatment because of it.

Have not discussed time line w/meds- I see my LLMD every 2 weeks for status check up

so far...so good Hope yours goes well too

I am in my 7th week of IV and planning to go 8-9 weeks. The first 4 weeks were really hard. I herxed very hard and really could only go from bed to couch.

I could feel the picc line for the first few days and that was annoying. Then I had a major skin infection/allergic reaction to the picc covering.

That being said, over the last 2 weeks I have started to resolve. This includes being able to drive for the first time in months, work a little.

I've added oral zithro and that kicked it up a notch. Now I feel like I am starting to resolve. I've also added major detox supplements, acupunture and rife every 4 or 5 days.

I think the herx was bad but it definately got to stuff that orals just didn't hit. My main complaints are fatigue, eye problems, sound light and skin sensitivity.

Best of luck and hang in there.

Not everybody has the same reaction to rocephin.

One severe side effect can be diaherra, but I did not

have that problem. Good luck on it, and let me know

how you feel. I will get back on abx soon...

Wantabe, my symptoms are sounding a bit like yours now. I am on Cipro as well, so it's packing a one-two punch.

Catskillmama, I am so happy to hear of your progress! I have faith that the IVs will get to some of that stuff that the orals don't reach. Otherwise, why do it, right?

Definitely a topic I'm extremely interested in, since I go in for my port on Friday and will have the visiting nurse over later in the day to give me my first dose.

I think the unknown is always the scariest part. We never know how we will react and EVERY single person will react differently. But knowing what to expect...in worse case scenarios...for whatever reason, helps me expect the worst but then can feel I got off easier than that.

Do let us know how you do and anyone else with guidance or what to expect....we'd love to hear from you.

I'm going to bring this up to a the top since someone just barely put out a new topic asking this same type of question. Hopefully they will see it this way.

It's true, everyone will react differently. That is so frustrating!

Rianna, what happened to make this your "miracle drug"?
