I have two different Magnesium supplements....they are both powdered. One is Magnesium citrate and the other is Magnesium carbonate with Calcium added too.

I feel like they both make me constipated, however (I know, this is different than most people!). Also, I think I heard there are better forms of Magnesium for us than the carbonate or citrate.

What do you all use? What is recommended?

I cannot swallow big, thick tablets. I also cannot swallow really large capsules. So that makes it a little tougher.

I take Peter Gillham's Natural Calm.

It is a magnesium supplement my Lyme Nurse Practioner prescribed. I took it to try and help with my body wide twitching.

That's been completely gone for over a year now.

It is recommended that all Lyme patients have a stool daily and one teaspoon of this at night in a cup of hot water does it for me.

I found it in a Health food store, it can also be found on line.

I second Natural Calm. Has greatly reduced lower back/ sciatica pain. Makes difference between bent over barely able to walk and tolerable mobility. Helps relax muscles.

No I don't sell it but I'd like too!

P.S. Bulk is cheaper than the individual packets.

Mag Glycinate by Metagenics. Very absorbable but rather large if you have trouble swallowing.

Magnesium gylcinate by KAL and Magnesium Asporotate by Solaray are also good.

The asporotate is easier to swallow.

I'm very sensitive to citric acid and can't tolerate the Natural Calm. Just be aware if your stomach is sensitive.

I like Natural Calm by Peter Gillham also. It's magnesium citrate, a powder, dissolves in hot water. It creates its own acid environment, which is needed for the magnesium to be absorbed.

Pills can go thru your system and into the toilet.

Best,

Cass A

Dr S. (in MD) recommends a product called Perque Mg. It has a few different forms of Mg in one pill.

I also like MagTabs.
