Has anyone experienced a herx as a result of a massage?

I've had 2 massages in the past 3 days, which I've never done before (I have to use up my credits at Massage Envy before my membership ends) and man am I feeling bad.

The herx symptoms could be more a result of having a rough week at work, or from re-starting an exercise routine, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced a post-massage herx?

My thoughts were that it could force spirochetes and/or toxins into the bloodstream.

Yes, a massage can cause a herx. Take it easy and drink lots of water. I don't really know if it's an actual herx, or a detox reaction, but many of us have experienced it.

have them give you GENTLE massages, not the DEEP massages! i acted up also.

yes, drink LOTS OF WATER afterwards while still there and in next 24 hrs. pee pee and get rid of the toxins stirred up by massage.

Probably all your muscles are inflamed from toxins. Massage just aggravates the situation, like people with fibromyalgia (some).
