I can't find answers to these questions.

1. Is is possible to have only Bartonella and not BB from a tick byte?

2. Can a tick infected only with Bartonella create an EM rash?

3. Would a small red dot below the surface of the skin that appears after starting antibiotics be a bartonella symptom? This is an unusual looking dot where you can see through the top of the skin into the skin where there is something like a red dot burred in the skin. I just have one and its on my finger, size of a grain of sand.

4. How easy is it to cure Bartonella compared to lyme disease

(symptoms have been going on for 4+ years.)

Yes, you can get Bartonella alone without Lyme.

As far as the EM rash, not sure. I know Bb (lyme) and Stari can cause that rash. They say starti is not lyme: however, some believe is is a different strain on lyme that we can not test for.

The typical symptoms of bartonella are: sore soles of feet, frontal headaches, CNS symptoms out of proportion to others, muscle twitching and red striations (look like strech marks) to name a few.

Everyone responds differently to treatment. I think Bart would be easier to treat than Lyme. It depends on your infection load, your function of your immune system, and how long you have been ill for.

SOme treat for 4-6 weeks and others much much longer. It is so difficult to say exactly what we are treating since none of the test are accurate and there is so much symptom overlap between lyme and coinfections.

Best wishes
