Hi,

I have been on Mepron, azitro & Artemisian (sp?)for almost 4 months. I will get a good day till around 6 or 7PM. Then the stiffness, chills, neck, arm, leg pain start.

I guess my question is how do others start feeling better? Do the good hours just start getting longer and more? And how do you tell a herx from the abx just not working? Or when do you say enough is enough and change abx?

This is the worst I have ever felt. I have been treating lyme, with a LLMD for 5 years. I am having a hard time functioning for the first time since this nightmare started in 1997. It is lucky I have a sit down job, till I have to stand up. My legs hurt and are stiff and weak.

I do detox. Epsen salt soaks, lemon & olive oil &water liver detox. And probiotics every day.

Have others went this long with out improvement on mepron?

I have been on mepron/zith/tindamax for about nine months. I didn't realize the improvement, it was so gradual. I was switched to malarone. Symptoms started to return, and I realized how much better I had become with Mepron.

The specific symptoms that have improved with Mepron are similar to yours; stiff legs and swollen ankles, achy arm, neck creaking, sweats, and burning on my shins.

I didn't get worse on this regime, just didn't think I was getting better. Try going off abx for a while and see if your symptoms improve. What does you llmd have to say? Five years is a long time to still be treating, and feeling terrible!

My symptoms have gotten worse since treatment.

My LLMD thought this was the missing link with me. He would get me 90% better and I would go down hill again. So he thought we were missing something and I have alot of the babs symtoms and had never been on mepron.

He is out of town for a few weeks. He said he was going to switch me to Bixin, augmetin and mepron-mon, tue & wed-1 1/2 tsp 2xday. Instead of the 1tsp 2xday of mepron.

I have gotten worse on these abx. Alot. My LLMD thinks herx. He says die off toxins are causing all my problems. Says this is normal die off symtoms.

I just wonder if others have to struggle this long before feeling a little better. Someone told me that once I start feeling better I would feel really good quickly.

Thanks

I have read, and my doctor corroborates, that Mepron can be ineffective unless the dosage is increased to 2 tsp., twice a day.

I did not improve until the dose was increased. Maybe that is something to consider...

I was placed on 2tsps of Mepron twice a day. I took it with Biaxin which worked much better for me than zithromax. I will say that it was a very very gradual process to feel better.

I took Mepron for 1.5 years straight. The last 9 months I have been on Malarone.

Babesia herxes are difficult.

Best to you!

Katrina
