Ok so you take abx for years, do herbs , etc and nothing works. So whAt does kill Lyme dead?

Posted by felo (Member # 32923) on :

why you say it doesn't work? when you stop taking it comes back? or even when you take it it doesn't work? what are your symptoms once you get off ABX and what are the symptoms when you take it

Posted by Kramberry (Member # 34032) on :

Im starting to doubt my abx too. Im on alot as in alot of them right now. it seems they dont work for me.

Posted by felo (Member # 32923) on :

guys ABX is an antibiotic right? What are you symptoms?

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

It takes a long time.

Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :

I was biaxin,'cipro, levaquin, you name it. Did burner, cowden etc. My symptoms are All classic Lyme and I tested positive per igenex. The abx dis nothing but totally destroy my gastro system and leave me sicker than before. I did abx for over 2 years and saw no improvement. I don' t believe that abx will ever "cure" Lyme. So what I'm asking is relatively simple. Is there something out there that will permanently kill lyme?

Symptoms and Most are identical. Will treating yeast
Make the symptoms go away and how long can you be on diflucan, the liquid did nothings for me

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

Symptoms are nearly the same .. just different causes.

Liquid?? I've been taking Diflucan for months now. You have to keep checks on your liver though.

randibear,
I feel for you, as you have been with this far longer than I and I feel as thou I have done far more to gain my life back then any other illness in my 55 yrs of life...
What Kills Lyme ?
We are thrown into a nightmare with medical professionals saying we are crazies,
We are trimming everything that cost dearly, $$$
We are dieting and micro managing our foods and supplements..
We are our own advocates, God Bless the many folks here that have fought so we can press on.
We have tested our will against all odds -
Taking in every bit of info that is possible, when we can't read or comprehind anything.
What Kills Lyme ?
Your own inmune system... thats what !
supporting our inmune system to defend against the unknown bacteria, that is suppose to mimic good micros in us...
Listen to your body and do it...
I have all but, drank whiskey untill i am no more..
Then The Lord reminds me, stay the course, accept Jesus and when this physical torture ends, the Heavens will open and all illness is forgotten.
I hope you find an edge of accepting what we all have (whatever they want to call it) and live.
Live as gentle and as joyfull as we can mustard up as human beings.. Love one another.
If it wasn't for lymenet, I would not be.
The Lord has a plan, find His Will and follow His path, He alone nows the cure..
and when He decides, there will be no more lyme net, no more pain, and life will be yours again... Believe and take our Blessings daily.

I meant the liquid stuff what do you call it? The yellow stuff that tastes like bananas umm nystatin maybe? It's for thrush..but didn't do a thing.

Have you looked into Phytostan to treat yeast?

One of the LymeNet members told me about it in the chat room.
He said that his doc suggested it after two prescription products failed.
It worked so well that he was annoyed the doc hadn't told him about it first!

It has caprylic acid, undecylenic acid, and grapefruit extract with Pau D'Arco.

Integrative Therapeutics Phytostan

Probably because it contains sugar!

Carol.. I can't tolerate those ingredients. I sound like a broken record.

Randi.. how about you?

Randi, ever tested for mold exposure? Symptoms are a lot like Lyme and mold halts lyme treatment.

Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :

umm how about me what?? I forgot the question.. Nope not tested for mold. How do you do that?

Posted by Harmony (Member # 32424) on :

sorry to hear, randibear

I think the other members are on to something - you may have a secondary challenge - hope you can find it with help from LymeNet and address it properly and start feeling like you are on the way out of this mess

I really feel for you

having said that, in answer to your original question, I think the abx I am on are owrking for me (previously doxy and now Minocycline 200mg/day plus recently Bactrim DS 2/day) and I think those drugs ARE killing Lyme dead, just not all individual bacteria at once (thank God - my body would die of toxins)

I do feel liek I Herx and then actually get better, and I am so glad and I am sorry you are obviously not getting that experience and I would be upset, too, if I did not get some hope that I am on the right track

hope you can look into the yeast or mold or metal or parasite or immune support or someother aspect and get well!!!!!!

do you have a good doc who has done tests on your immune system / metabolism to detect possible weakness that could be supported to give you a better edge so that you can get better? like adrenal glands, deep sleep, Mg/D/B12 levels, thyroid, inflammation, etc.

good luck!

elaine, how do you test for mold exposure? is it covered by insurance?

Can my llmd do it or does an allegy specialist deal with this.

thanks.

Randi,

the moldtesting is a good idea. It is the number 1 in lyme treatment. Elaine can help you, pm her for details.

Number2: You know that any lyme treatment starts with the Dr K protocol.
Diflucan is now used as an antiparasitic and not anti yeast only. That's why you feel better on diflucan.

i've got a doctor who does not believe in candida or lyme. remember -- no lyme in texas. i can't travel.

i understand there is a holistic doctor here, dr. s, i think but he takes only cash and is really outrageously expensive. like 1700 for the first visit....wow

i can't get diflucan from anybody, including my gastro, caused i've specifically asked for it and explained my reasons. their rational -- there is no such thing as candida.

Hi Randibear,

Pleo Alb knocked my candida on it's a**. I took a huge overdose the first day by accident when I couldn't get the dropper to work correctly, and woke up next morning with what looked like a whole teaspoon of yogurt on my tonuge. After that I stayed on the regular dose.

It's a homeopathic remedy, so it's very safe and I've seen it available online, though mine was prescribed by a Naturopath.

The Naturopath also told my husband that his persistant tennis elbow was caused by yeast and put him on Pleo Alb. He had tried every conventional tx over a period of several years, including cold laser = $$$, with no luck. Pleo Alb cured him in 2 weeks, and it's been almost 10 yrs. now with no reoccurrance.

Prior to this experience, I thought homeopathy was bunk. Live and learn!

Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :

dental is ok. But I've had a root canal and had to have a bridge put in. No cavities at last check up. Have alot of tmi pain tho. My splint finally broke and the guy charges 3
Grand so right now am not wearing one. I do have lots of fillings tho but dentist charges a ton to have them removed cause I asked and he said mine are not the old metal
Mercury compound but the new composite stuff

Thank you for your thought jlp38. It is the hardest thing Ive ever faced. As a mom you feel so helpless. It really is a nightmare that I am praying one day to wake up from.

I read an article about an avid hiker (the AT trail, Pacific Crest Trail, etc.) who developed Lyme Disease. He took years of antibiotics, including IV's. Nothing worked. Discouraged, he quit the antiobiotics and started taking Probiotics. He gradually began feeling better. He is back hiking again. He doesn't have the stamina he originally had, but says he continues to improve as time goes by.

So why did the Probiotcs help him so much and the antibiotics did not? Did the probiotics help improve his health and immune system to kill the Lyme. Obviously they helped with candida.

I have read that yogurt, kefir, etc. contain Lactoferrin which is supposed to kill so many things as well as destroy some types of Biofilm.

I will try to find the article and post it on the board. Should provide for a good conversation.

So how do you test for mold and candida?

P.S. - I asked my LLMD if they could test for mold and they said that it is not part of their practice.

Hope you can help!

Posted by momlyme (Member # 27775) on :

When I suspected mold, my son's LLMD said there was no way to test the body for mold... so I did an ERMI on my house and then air testing. These 2 tests cost me over $2,000.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have spent $250-300 on the urine testing for mycotoxins.

There are a couple of labs that I know of that test the urine for mycotoxins... which are actually the bi-products of mold... the thing that makes you sick is not mold, but mycotoxins.

PM me if you want names and addresses for the labs. I know a few mold friendly doctors too.

We had to switch LLMD's... if you suspect mold and you also have lyme, I would look for a doc who can put all the pieces of the puzzle together.

Randibear: I think it's a combo of abx., a LOT OF REST, diet, and anaerobic exercise.

the answer is 40.000$ and india stem cell therapy.

Phil, basically it's a light treatment with nosodes. There are a few active threads on it that you might want to take a look at. Look on page one and page two of medical questions for the threads. I went in Oct. 2008 and have not been on abx or killing herbs since.
