Edited - try the link now - it might work w/o the parentheses - the use of - for some reason -is not allowed here?

http://myhealth-center.de/app/download/4226335202/Krause+et+al+2002+2.pdf

The "2" before .pdf need parentheses around it.

See in particular page 135 - Tables 1 and 2.

Five manufacturers listed.

The donors from the countries of manufacture?

Italy, Israel, Switzerland and 2 from USA.

I can't get the link to work either and it won't let me add the parentheses. (edit - just added the parentheses, but it still didn't want to work)

Can you please cut/paste the article here?

Has anyone been able to figure out what the values next to Bb mean?

Antibodies were detected?

I remembered reading the following - which gave me the idea of the possibility of Bb antibodies being found in IVIG:

http://relative-risk.blogspot.com/2011/11/blame-it-on-ivig.html

The patient did not contract LD from IVIG - just the transient antibodies.

It is said IVIG does not directly effect LD.

Me - the brainless one - thinks that it could.

I don't understand the workings. IVIG with EBV antibodies helps folks fight EBV, right?

Couldn't IVIG with lots of Bb antibodies help a person with LD?

I have read where the geographic region of the donors plays a part in what antibodies are in which batches.

ie wouldn't it make sense to try to include in IVIG - antibodies from folks in Lyme concentrated areas?

Wouldn't it be easier to take Transfer Factor Lyme Plus?

What about babesia now being found in the blood supply?

Also, all the antibodies from a IVIG fully leave the body in 4-6 weeks.

Further research:

GammaGard/Baxter and their donor program:

http://www.biolifeplasma.com/html/center_location/center_location.html

http://www.biolifeplasma.com/html/the_program/eligibility.html

Note the states for plasma donation - as well that folks with a history of LD can donate. (scroll down). Doesn't that imply BB antibodies could be in the IVIG?

Also:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC96160

Interesting - showing brands with high titers to some pathogens. (scroll down to Table 1).

To me - all this opens up possibilities of IVIG - perhaps a "designer" IVIG. Or at least the idea to choose a brand - and batch??? - from donors/areas where targeted pathogens are more likely to be represented.

ie IVIG from Connecticut vs Alaska.

For those with CVID that receive IVIG regularly -and also have LD - couldn't this be of immense help?
