I was wondering if anyone has any reconmendations for a pre workout before going to the gym. I have been out of the gym for 2 months now due to lack of energy and fatigue. Has anyone found anything that gave them a boost to make it to the gym?

Schlozie- I hope I spelled your nickname right [Smile]

Anyways, not sure if you've had a chance to read DR. B's Guidelines yet (they're at the top of Medical Questions), but he advises against cardio training while ill will lyme.

Lyme messes up the electrical signals in our heart muscle, amongst other things related to cardio exercise.

Weight lifting is ADVISED, as long as a day of rest is between lifting days.

Personally, I think a good night's rest is the best pre-game supplement on the market.


But I agree with desertwind. When I used to play soccer 5 days a week, (God, I miss it!), I used Vega.

This is a great question. I am dying to get back to the gym as I used to be a weight lifter but I just

don't have the energy and concentration anymore. I used to take a ton of preworkout formulas from GNC

but I am afraid to do so while on abx. I wish more people would chime in.

I take anything from body tech - the caffine!! I have innapropriate sinus tachycardia and many other symptoms from lyme..

BCAA's with glutamine give me lots of energy for the gym.. Also creatine mono with glutamine and Beta alinine have been good for me..

The bodytech brand is gluten, sugar, lactose, soy free, among other things.. Pre workout and post workout I would suggest not using anything with stimulants..

I had a bout where I got really dizzy lifting but this has passed it comes and goes! Just listen to your body.. Oh I am not a doctor or a personal trainer this is just what works for me..

Vitamins are also a big help..

Glutamine, a stimulant, can be neurotoxic and very damaging to those with lyme and is contraindicated for anyone with any kind of neurological condition.

Creatine is for gaining weight- said to bloat, etc.
I won't take that, not for me, and while glutamine can

help heal stomach lining, I have a bad reaction to it.

Plain BCAA's, which are just 3 amino acids, can make a noticeable difference my husband and I noticed for slightly better endurance lifting weights.
