Hi - the Dr J thread was moved from Medical Questions to General Support, since it is about support for him and patients and is not a medical question.

However, we recognize the urgency of saving him - we have 3 days to get the fundraising message out there, so we are posting here to ask you all to go see the thread in General and please help out!!

Thx for this Robin.

I agree, this is not a medical question so I understand what's behind the principle of moving the thread to General.

But given the ... um, how do I say this... some of the nonsense and BS posted in Medical ...

how can anyone justify NOT keeping the Dr. J. thread in Medical?

This is an urgent matter that should be kept in Medical IMO. We need to save this doctor!

Thanks for your concern, beaches - the mods are trying to keep threads in the categories that the thread matches. Otherwise why have any categories at all here? I suppose we'll keep working on sorting it all out.

In this case, when I saw the recent visitor history weighted toward Medical, given the urgency of this situation, I posted a strong heading here about the support need in General Support and I think it's a very clear statement.

People should get used to looking at posts in all these categories. The topic variety is useful and relevant, in my opinion.

Oh, I see what you did just above here - fine - thx - takes people to the thread.

Bringing this up I would have missed it if I had not gone to General.

Thanks to everyone for getting the word out I had not heard about this latest crisis.

"People should get used to looking at posts in all these categories."

Some don't have time, some are too sick, some don't even know there are other places to look, and some don't care if there are.

That's a nice thought in a perfect world, but we don't have time to re-program all the members right now and hope they suddenly start complying, and then hope they stumble on the right post, especially those who have already seen it in one section for several days and are trying to follow it.

I just scrolled and read thru 2 pages of individual Medical topics because I couldn't find THIS post, and on the 3rd time around finally found it.

There is NO rule that says posts must be in a certain place. The wording below the topics is only a general topic description.

This moving of posts is done by the individual moderators, it is totally and absolutely their choice. They have, according to LN Rules, a "right" to move it, but not an "obligation".

Please put the topic back where it started out, ASAP. Then we can all work on being perfect and organized later.

Thank you!

I totally agree with Tincup. Time is of the essence. We don't have time to wait for others to find this post in "general" and it's well known that "Medical" gets the most traffic.

This is not an on-going subject, it's an important subject with an important deadline.

Can't we just leave information in both places??? Then people can be able to read, whether it is in support or Medical..

But we are on an excruating time sensitive time line.

It was hard for me to just find it in support. It is lost and looks like all the other regular forum posts...It needs to stand out more. I am concerned too.

I have been on many different groups on line and they all have different categories, with "general" being typically one of them.. so , I was kind of wondering why people here didn't use the categories . I think they are a good thing, but I have myself posted in medical something that should be in another cat because I knew no one was likely to respond to it anywhere else in this forum

Some threads may warrant putting them in all the categories since they obviously will be of importance in many ways- such as this Jones thread. Something that requires swift action should always be in the spotlight

Right and the spotlight is in "medical" the section that gets the most traffic.

Thanks for the bumping! Donations still needed since we got an extension of sorts and still need to try and get the full amount.

Thanks to everyone, and because of the kind donations received we now have just over $27,000!

Yes, $27,000. Amazing, isn't it?

Update- Saturday, May 31, 2014- Thanks to your efforts and your kind donations, in just two weeks you've managed to reach the $45,0000 goal for Dr. Jones, and then some!

This is absolutely amazing! More than amazing! It is super wonderful! Thank you so very much!!!

Grateful & Relieved- There is no doubt Dr. Jones is both relieved and very grateful to all who care about him and his special angels. And because of your efforts children will now have an opportunity to continue to be treated by the best Lyme pediatrician in the world, something every child deserves.

I personally thank all of you- parents, volunteer patient advocates, support group leaders, patients, concerned citizens, families, care givers and health care professionals- who have stepped up now and in the past to support Dr. Jones over the years. With this effort it is easy to see when we work together we can do it! Thank you so very much!!!

This short video was put together a while back as a tribute to those who have worked so hard to help so many. I'd like to share it with you again now because, well, because those who keep fighting this battle are so very special in so many ways. You truly are.

No TC --- YOU did it!! You are amazing! Thank you for rallying the troops!

Over $51K raised? Wow, I guess you could say we Lymenet members don't fool around when it comes to saving the practice of Doc J!

Congrats to all of US for donations made, and thanks to TC for spearheading this! Look up "activist" in the dictionary, and there she'll be.

And most importantly, thanks to Dr. J. and his wonderful staff!!!

You just have to love an 85 yo great doc who has all his marbles, does the MOST comprehensive physical exam, has docs all over the country deferring to his protocols and recommendations and has the gumption to go up against the CT medical board.

He is right and when you're right and you know you're right (and as long as you have guts) you will stand up to anything and anyone. Dr. J. has done this time and again.

He's a hero. He's a gentleman. He's awesome.

I am SO glad that we here were able to help him!
